How much would you pay for fuel?

I got some yesterday and wondered how much we'd pay for easy fuel, when desperate? I would have gone 50% higher for the lack of stress and hassle. In the end, it was the cheapest place for miles. I'm mainly needing it to look after other people, not for my own purposes. I would have been £2 per litre yesterday, to fill up.

I don't know if the panic buying is easing now but heard radio alerts today, with places available only for trucks

Personally I've not seen queues or shortages. I buy supermarket fuel usually as its the cheapest.

I grudge even the 3p more to go to BP or Shell!

We would pay double or treble or whatever it takes to get it. We physically can't do our job without fuel.

Thankfully there were no queues today, people around us seem to be being sensible.

I would pay whatever. I take a family member to the hospital regularly (5hr round drive) so I need the fuel.

How ever much pain thinner or other house hold things that can dubble for a substitute wouldn’t entertain a scalper

I’m in agreement with you sticking to the cheapest and avoiding the addition pennies at a different garage!

I haven’t even bothered to get fuel during all this, I’m a fortunate position to WFH so it’s not needed.

But I can bet some who are in a similar position to myself have still filled up ‘just in case’ which is bred from the crap reporting in the media, who have created a bigger problem due to scaremongering (not sure if right word?) people.

Ive managed to get away without refilling so far, ill just see how long this remaining 1/4 tank of petrol lasts. Hopefully long enough for normality to return!

If and when I need fuel I’ll pay what the pump is asking I mean I’m old enough now to remember when fuel was 50-60p ffs

As I've had to acquire wheelchair adapted vehicles to get my mum, and any neccesary equipment around that she needs. The annoying bit is that we can't claim motobility allowance because, she was over 60 when she became disabled, so I will have to pay the going rate whatever. I've no doubt that there are a few others in the same position.

A staff member at Morrisons told me that they were having queues due to the high volume of the worried who rarely drive, except for tiny trips, who had been buying a few pounds worth, just in case. . I appreciate them just taking a small amount but it was the volume of purchasers that were causing the queues, including at payment processing.

With hindsight, I would have paid much more, even though I avoid the highest price places

But on the cost note local garage in Malvern...last week £1.35/litre....Saturday 1.39....today 1.41.....didn't realise oil prices had gone up!!

The only garage in Malvern that has had fuel right through....

That’s the issue is people doing it incase, got a few friends who are self employed and they need their vans for work and peoples attitudes regarding fuel are making them turn down potential jobs and struggle to go to jobs.

Nobody thinks of the knock on effect this all has!

Would pay more but not silly prices as I have to drive 51 miles to work won't be worth working there if prices got too much. We have one petrol station left with fuel other 6 are empty . Luckily I have filled up Saturday but unless things get better I won't be able to get to my job.putting extra stress on other staff

I'm going to have to pay the going rate come the weekend, as I'm supposed to be taking part in a charity event which is effectively Knebworth to John o'Groats, to Lands End and back to Knebworth. In a 50 year old car, in a weekend

The availability of fuel in the more remote parts of the country at stupid o'clock in the morning, or not, is seriously threatening the running of this event, and we'll all be mightily pissed off if it gets cancelled again. Because it was meant to be this weekend last year....

I know that they pay for the fuel, but I have to provide the vehicles, road tax, and insurance on top! Because, my mum happened to become afflicted after an age cut off date. The point I was making was that regardless of what the price goes to, I will have to pay it regardless, as will so many others in the same circumstances.

£1.30 is my limit bearing in mind the mark up on a litre already and we are the highest taxed on fuel in Europe.

I believe this run on fuel was orchestrated to gain on the tax. The smarmy goverment a laughing at everyone queing including nhs workers and paying over the odds.

I never fill to the brim because it's using up fuel to carry all the weight of a full tank. Also if I get rear ended I don't fancy going up in flames.

Surprised there hasn’t been more profiteering from fuel companies. When the queues started they could have charged a bit more and people would have paid.

We’ve basically agreed our car will only be used for essential travel over the next couple of weeks and see where we are after that.

Before you fall off your chair, that's the average price people pay for printer ink cartridges, costed per litre.

In other words if you can afford printer ink for your home printer, you already are paying the equivalent of £1,890 per litre in fuel terms.

Printer ink is virtually the most expensive liquid in the world.

Ordered directly from a brand’s website, printer ink costs around £1.89 per millilitre or £1,890 per litre.

According to Which?, a bottle of Dom Perignon Vintage Champagne at the same price per millilitre would cost £1,417.50.

The ink was also found to be more expensive than both Brent Crude Oil and Chanel No.5 perfume.
