Maybe life got in the way or the conversation came to a natural end.

Yeah, that sounds more like someone wanting to string you along rather than aftee no strings fun. It's not unique to women, I've had it loads from guys especially over the lockdown. Sent messages 24/7 then Vanished when we were free to meet. Problem you have with this post is that you're male. If it was a female she would have scores of messages from well wishers reassuring her that "he was not worthy of her, he was probably married or some sad, lonely loser"

200 messages is definitely too much. People here are not into long term, long distance platonic friendships. With the very first messages you make her to be interested, then a few more to make her to want to see you, then a few more to arrange a meeting. Whatever exceeds a certain point, it will become routine, predictable and boring. Women don't like that, it will not get them wet for you.

I have the same problem, being away for long periods of time, with work. Conversation dries up. I cannot blame them for that.

200 messages... she was really into you, until she couldn't be bothered anymore. Try to use the momentum, when the other one is excited about the idea of getting closer to you.

So many people who think they know exactly what’s going on in every situation! I have anxiety that comes and goes so some days I’ll feel brave enough to arrange a meet and other days I won’t. I’m not suggesting this is what has happened with you OP, I’m just pointing out that all situations are different and nobody can tell what’s happened in each one apart from the person involved. She might have been a time waster but she equally might have had good intentions. You’ve done all you can though, I’m sure she’ll be back in touch if she wants to

Problem is, they'd be caught out.

OT - The simple way to avoid wasting so much time is to ask for a chat or to see eachother on cam early on. No need for faces, just to make sure she's a female, not just another sad bloke getting his kicks at your expense. If the 'woman' you're chatting to won't do that find someone who will, because most of the time it'll be a real timewaster you're actually dealing with - a man posing as a female or couple.

If she was real, bear in mind that her situation may have changed or you might have said something indavertently which put her off. It happens and you just have to move on.

That's exactly what I thought if it took 200 messages and no exchange of phone number. I get closet gay or bi guy's posing as women and couples messaging me regularly. That's why I won't even send out cock pics till after a phone call, and hearing the ladies voice. Understandably single women and couples have to be cautious when giving out phone numbers, so when I say that they can have mine, but they can withhold their number till they are comfortable with me, and they then vanish into cyberspace, that always tells my that I have connected with a bloke looking for inspiration as he beats his meat on the toilet seat.

Timewasters can be different things to different people.

I’d say that having a 200 message chat could be considered time wasting if one party was only going along with it to get laid.

Otherwise it was human interaction rather that time wasting.

People who don’t read profiles but message are wasters of the message recipients’ time.

I agree 100% but unfortunately I've found a lot of people on here don't like chatting on cam (or on other more convenient apps where you can get a decent conversation going). And as a guy you don't often get to pick and choose who you speak to so you kinda have to just take what you're given when it comes to conversation.
