Being recognised in public

I’ve been to a wedding today and one of the guests there came up to me and told me that she recognised me off this site. I have messaged her in the past and I attached a face picture to the message as I always do if they ask for one in their profile. I asked her what her name was on here but she wouldn’t tell me and she said I wouldn’t be able to find her as she doesn’t show her face on her profile.

She then got her phone out and got my profile up on her screen straight away so I knew she was genuine. She told me I have to buy her and her friends drinks all night or she was going to show my profile to everyone there as well as the message I sent her with the face picture attached. I bought them drinks just because it was too risky to call her bluff and I actually ended up getting on well with her but it was a bit of a scary situation....and very expensive....

Has anyone else ever experienced anything simple to this and is there anything I can do to prevent it happening again?

I know it wouldn’t be easy but I’d have called her bluff, if she did show things to everyone there, was she going to say her reasons for joining the site was for swinging or for ripping guys off opportunities? An absolute reptile and I’d like to think I would have the courage to front her out.

I personally wouldn't have given into her demands and I certainly wouldn't have bought her anything. I know that is easier said than done when in a situation like that OP.But I have called someone's bluff before on here when I was new here years ago and gave out a little bit too much info and they found where I worked at the time .

It taught me not to give out any personal info or send face pics until I feel comfortable doing so I certainly won't because someone demands them early on in a conversation.

It really pisses me off people think it's okay to do stuff like that on here.

That is such a wrong thing for her to do! Nasty! On the getting recognized thing it happens to me whenever I'm out! Must b alot on fabs this area! Was spotted twice on Wednesday and once yesterday on the train! And even at work quite often in my crapy uniform! Which led to a meet up this week for fun !
