I’d rather the muck spreading. That isn’t likely to screw my lungs up.

That and it’s a part of the countryside smells

Yeah, but urban pollution is constant and is horrible every day. Muck spreading only happens a couple of times a year and lasts for a few weeks as they do all the fields, so isn't anywhere near as intrusive

Muck spreading is fine as long as it's from a larger animal. Chicken manure can really pong - but it's better than air I've breathed in when in some of our larger cities

Once you lived there a long time you don’t really notice it 33 years so far

I do notice it when it’s on the local fields but as others have said it’s never for long and not exactly offensive but more pungent.

There is a chicken farm just outside of town and that’s a different story all together

Lifes departure lounge NN9 Northamptonshire East not West MidlandsMidlands

Dependant on which way the wind is blowing I get the good smell of Weetabix being baked or the horrid smell of the nearby Landfill site.

The couple of weeks of muck spreading make a nice change and are a good reminder of my semi rural location.

Yes I remember carrying out some work near Wellingborough and that Weetabix plant does whiff a bit! So does the Nestle plant at Banbury but maybe not as bad as the sugar plant in Silvertown, East London. Give me some good old manure any day ??

I've lived on or around farms and eventually you stop noticing any smell.

Whenever I go into a city I feel like I'm suffering with hay fever with the pollution.

Smell over breathing difficulties anyday

I grew up on a farm and regardless I could never get used to that smell

Nothing better to clear your lungs and set you up for the day.

A good healthy smell.

And if you do smell it well it means you haven't got Covid.
