I'm off to watch "Blue velvet" tonight at the cult cinema club. Anyone else a fan of David Lynch. If so what's your favourite and why.

hidden location

Original Dune (1984) with Kyle MacLachlan as Paul Atreides.

It was so different from anything at the time or up until very recently. It had a certain unique style.

On a mooch

TV has to be Twin Peaks a murder that turns into a look into others minds.

Movie - The Elephant Man, the cast and the way it was filmed

I think Straight Story is an undervalued classic. Less showy than a lot of Lynch but more emotional impact.

Of his best known films I'd pick Mudholland Drive as my favourite. Love the Hollywood settings among many other things.

I'm rewatching the original Twin peaks at the moment. Wouldn't know it was 30 years old.

One of my favourite films as a kid. Didn't know it was Lynch until fairly recently.

Also a shout out to Boxing Helena, directed by his daughter.Almost universally panned, with a seriously twisted plot,it's still worth a watch if you like dad's films.Oh and it's got Sherilyn Fenn in it

You have to rewatch M/D to try and make any sense of it and even then you'll fail ;-p. I prefer Lost Highway, similar but easier to make sense of.

Love all the deco buildings in Hollywood. The apartment featured in it is stunning.

Amazing film. Got to love a man in a snakeskin jacket that is a symbol of his individuality, and his belief... in personal freedom ;-p

Big fan, blue velvet , wild at heart and original twin peaks also Julie Cruise. I heard that Lana Del Ray re-invented herself around Lynch and Blue Velvet, which makes a lot of sense and explain why I like her music

I remember seeing the DD type scene as a teen and thinking how fucked up that was, haven’t watched it for years but it’s probably quite tame now
