The high you are the further you fall.

If we’re talking about work I went through a period of setting my bar high in terms of doing the very best I could do in my current role but had no desire to go further.

This was always misinterpreted by my colleagues as “wanting to get ahead”. I never did , I just wanted to do the best I could do.

Roll forward a few years and I did get a promotion and absolutely hated it so asked to go back to my previous role and I’m enjoying it so much more.

You’ve got to do what you enjoy I think, life will get you down otherwise

Manchester (she/her)

I'm always striving to be better. Not found my ceiling yet.

I set my bar high but realistically high otherwise I'm just setting myself up for disappointment.

At work i had a very high bar in terms of my attitude to my job and the way I carried it out. After a stint in a responsible position I realised it wasn't for me and was quite happy doing my work to the best of my ability. Until it got deadly boring do I jumped ship
