I'm looking to buy and fit an electric bike conversion kit to my old steel frame mountain bike. Has anyone had experience of them? Size of motor, front or real hub drive, size of battery ect. Any views would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There used to be some bike people on here. Maybe early risers.

My view would be, if you want to go faster, pedal harder...

Ended up sending off for a 1000w 48v 26inch front wheel motor kit and a 13ah 48v battery from British suppliers. They arrived 2 days late. Fitting the kit took me 85mins and I couldn't be happier with the outcome, makes short work of hills, and headwinds are a thing of the past, just in time for the great petrol shortage crisis.

Perfect timing. Where did you get the kit?

Got the Kit and battery from Ebay. The kit was £180.00 and the battery was £170.00.

I made an offer from £210.00 on the new battery.
