6 or 7 years...

Turbo on my prev (citroen) failed at 114k.. It was replaced, died again shortly after so got rid (used to drive nearly 70 miles a day, so needed it it be reliable) (dealer thought i should be amazed with its amazing mileage performance )

Swapped for a 2nd hand VW with 89k on the clock .... It's at around 191k..going well (oh gawd, touch wood) and probs had it around 7 years

3 or 4 months, as I sell them for a living. 4 months feels like a lifetime in the same car lol

Not one of these people who buy a car and trade it in every two or three years. Normally wait until the cost of keeping it on the road is nearly the same a buying a new one.

Current car is 2015 if I keep it 9 years then it will be the longest I have owned the same car.

Current car is the longest I have had at 4 years. But that will be gone soon along with another on of ours which we have had three years.

Wanting something quicker and fun to drive so will probably go through a couple till I decide which I’d prefer lol

10 years for me, lasted longer than my marriage. And all I can say is the car was more reliable than my wife, it never went out without me and I always knew who'd been inside it

My trusting daily run around had 290,000 miles on the clock before finally retiring, the engine was still in excellent condition but the rest had reached old age.

Was very sad to see it go

I chop and change all the time, i collect classics.. theres two that stand out, my sierra rs500 was my dads he pretty much abandoned it in his garage in cyprus, i bought it back over and sympathetically restored it to its best so in theory ive had that 34 years

The other is my bmw e30 m3, ive had that 13 years.

My grandfather wrote his will out while my mother was pregnant with me. He declared that his classic Rover P6 would remain in the family, ready for when I was old enough to drive it. He died not long after I was born and to honour his wishes, my uncle kept it running until I got my license at 17. It's still in my garage and will be passed down to my son

Finedon ,

I kept my Mazda MX5 for 11 years, it was however my second car and I only sold it because my arthritus made it impossible for me to get in and out of it.

I usually keep my daily runner two to three years.

My previous car, 9 years. Was thinking of renewing the current one for a newer model but the yearly running costs are way cheaper on the one I have now so I'll keep it.

16 years & never wanted to swap it.. if only I'd serviced it more it might still be going, the garage told me he'd sell for parts, 2 hours later it was on AutoTrader for 4 times the amount he gave me trade in!!
