A hug is calming and still. A cuddle has more movement.

A cwtch is between the two but closer to a hug

I find them the same! If someone asks me for a cuddle or a hug they get the same thing. A snuggle is different though.

I always think of a hug as being quite personal but more arms around, friendly. Cuddles to me are more intimate, a deeper bond and more entwined with another.

Hug isn’t very long, or if it long it’s because it is that type of hug when you need that type of closeness contact

Cuddle is more intimate and usually to me is done with someone I feel comfortable with and fancy x

To me a hug is a short term hold, with your hands around the body, pulling them close.

A cuddle is longer, more intermate hold, where the hands can be on they leg, head, bum, anywhere really and the bodies are more intwind.

I think personally a hug is something friendly and supportive.

Now a cuddle is this too but it goes a step further into intimate realms...

It could also be said that a hug becomes a cuddle after a certain time has elapsed.

Now a cwtch is something else. It deserves its own category. Much like spooning..... Oh I love a good spooning session, especially listening to the wind and rain...... I digress...
