How are you doing today? I’m having one of those days/weeks where I’ve no bloody idea what to do with myself. My anxiety is spiking and I’m a right grouchy cow. You know where you’re overwhelmingly sad/angry/agitated but with no real cause or resolution…

What do you do when you’re like this?

Do you get like this?

What’s going on in your life to make you feel something right now?

Sometimes just saying it out loud helps

Hyper. Happy. Hopeful.

Now... my happy hysteria aside.. my self help tool box consists of various things. Cutting off root of anxiety if possible - radical and best treatment. Works here a treat. If not possible then just letting those emotions ride through but not clenching them between your brain folds.. I cry. Angrily usually. Then there is that emptiness and a space to fill it again with self kindness. I nourish myself with good people around me, with simple conversations and deep ones if simple won't cut the deal. I touch myself lovingly pampering or even brushing my hair like my Grandma would. I read things which remind me what a fucking strong person I am and it's all there. I twirl around dancing wildly and letting those anxious feelings evaporate with sweat. And so on.

I'm feeling good. After getting over an eye problem I had some busy days ahead that finished yesterday. So today is a 'and breathe' day. And I'm enjoying it.

When I feel agitated and stressed I either...

Go for a drive where I can do a decent speed with loud music on.

Sit in a hot bath for an hour.

Buy something fancy for dinner with a fancy dessert.

Zone out and watch a film.

Or get mister to sort me out with impact play and restraints. That works a treat.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Oh Saff.... anxiety is such a bitch and I wish you didn't have that.

No ideas or resolutions ever spring to mind, when I get that way I'm a duvet diver. Just curl up and shut out the world. And then get stupid on the forum to try and distract myself.

I'm mostly feeling overwhelmed, helpless, confused and sad at the moment. Also like I want to try fisting but only in order to pull my lady parts out of me by the uterus so I stop bleeding to death. I'm not sure that's how it's meant to be done though.

Manchester (he/him)

In all honesty, awful. I’m all over the place; angry, sad, anxious, numb, the full grief box set.

When I’m low I tend to shut off, isolate myself or go the other way and want to talk to people, I try to fight the isolation feelings as I know that it’s no good for me.

If getting out doesn’t help then I write, if writing doesn’t help then I talk.

I know that these feelings will pass, I try to let them flow over and through me, let them pass like water and not let them define me.

I will shake myself up soon, I am just really bad at being injured, and angry with myself about it.

I think I have some anxiety and depression at the moment, I'm not sure I've been aware of anxiety like before so it's new to me and I don't know why and I don't know how to fix it.

Somewhere

It’s been a crappy week. Happy, sad, crying, laughing.

When I feel that wave of sadness coming over me I’ll take the dogs to the park, clean and sort closets, bake. Some days it help and some days it doesn’t.

Big hug to you OP and everyone here.

And Nora, Bora Bora sounds like a perfect relaxation island.

Oh Saff, I know those feelings

Life has thrown me a couple of shitty curveballs this last 12 months

I am glad my resolve is winning out over my anxiety spikes, but some days spit me out the other end a demented, emotional, rambling wreck

You have friends, family & colleagues

Hold on to them

I know I'd have been in a much crappier place without the support of mine

I’m ok, which considering how crap things have been for a long time, is bloody brilliant.

To those who need a hug, there’s one right here. If you need help, I urge you to get it and take some of the shit away. Better times are ahead but it can be a battle to get there.

Same here. Putting on a brave face, getting on with the day to day, but in the background, mind's constantly wandering into the realms of "what if".

What do I do about it? I don't know? I read someone say somewhere, sometimes the right thing to do and the hard thing to do are often the same thing ...ain't that the truth.

I am sort of in a high happy mood, but have lots of different 'things' wound right up to bursting point with me, so if even one of those tips over the edge then I shall set the whole thing on fire and stride off into the smoky horizon type of mood. Or would like to. In reality I will just cry, shrug and start at the bottom again. Hope you feel ok soon. Xx
