Mobile screen protector

Having just got a new mobile ( new to me )

I want to protect the screen, there appears to be loads online, are they all roughly the same.

Or is gorilla glass, which I assume is a brand name, the best ?

Guerrilla glass is the actual glass screen of phones, rather than an additional overlaid protection. I've generally had them already fitted from new. I'd read reviews for them and get someone with a careful hand to fit it, potentially who has done it before.
