"100% meat is the best. Except for the planet. " It's natural..it's better than factories producing artificial meat products. When you take into consideration how much energy factories use to produce the artificial products, not to mention the stuff that is put into the products. If you smelt the bi product of Quorn you would never touch it again. It smells way beyond vile.

"Theres some wild mushrooms such as Beef stake, chicken/hen of the woods, Penny bun aka porcini that don’t try to emulate meat but are as substantial and excellent accompaniment to any vegan/ vegetarian dish. And there free and given by the beauty of nature. Just know what your picking. " wise man

"Correct me if I'm wrong but we're it not bird's-eye that cornered that market a number of years ago. There food I found quite delicious for a quick snack .along came quorn I think they bought them out and imposed There recipe on us .After that I never brought There product again ."

"Someone told me how quorn was made and I was majorly grossed out " If you seriously consider how meat is made then you might be majorly grossed out. Basically pretty well everything we put into our bodies is pretty disgusting in some way or other. Disclaimer: Yes I do eat meat, yes I do think about this stuff, yes I do periodically worry about the ethics of it. I don't deny meat eaters and I don't deny vegetarians and vegans. It's all a matter for the individual and their own conscience.

"Sorry, Quorn is fucking vile….and I have to resort to profanity to underline how vile it is. It’s like tiny cardboard spitballs….but worse." I had quorn once. Ate it and within minutes I was shouting down the big white telephone. Never again.

Ate it and within minutes I was shouting down the big white telephone. Never again. " I have a sensitivity to it. It doesn't make me vom, but it can make me feel a bit dizzy and slightly spaced out, and sometimes can make my skin itch and my fingers and toes feel tingly. As someone further up in the thread said, if I'm cutting down on meat I'd rather use peas, beans and lentils than a fake meat.

"Agree its rank. Theres no substitute for real meat. I eat 50/50 meat one day veggie the next, theres so many nice veggie meal options out there theres no need to substitute & fake 'meat' " this all the way, why try to replecate something thats already there, if you are vegie, and thats fine, more meat for me, then dont try and pretend its not vegie

"Im almost 40 years vegetarian and am not a fan of quorn at all! For me I really don’t want to eat something that has been made to resemble meat in texture or flavour! I do use it occasionally when cooking for my non vegi kids tho, they like the mince but nothing else Miss pc " The really weird thing is when you see vegi food that has been made to look like meat. I don't mean just burgers or sausages, that's okay as they're just convenient shapes to put inside bread buns. But in some places I've seen non-meat that has been sculpted into the shape of a chicken, complete with drumsticks. Or into the shape of prawns or lobster. Anybody that doesn't eat meat on ethical grounds (must be most vegetarians?) is surely not going to enjoy having something on the table that is made to smell, taste and look like a dead animal?

"Never quite got the vegan thing, the animals concerned are essentially vegan so the meat produced is vegan based. Yeh I'm in favour of organic farming rather than battery style, but the whole vegan thing seems to be more of a money making concept rather than a principal, hence you have Quorn. It is going more momentum. The danger is will it substitute eat altogether." I think you may be referring to vegetarians since most quorn products have egg in it.

"It's all going against nature! We have binocular vision (our eyes face forward) therefore we are hunters and eat meat. This is the case with nearly all hunters, cats, dogs, owls etc. Animals with monocular vision tend to be hunted. They have eyes either side of their heads to look out for predators. Why are so many people trying to go against nagure?" When did you hunt last?

We are human. We have a brain that can make a decision on what's right. What's wrong. And the fact is animal cruelty is wrong.
