I think we are a 20 goal a season striker away from really kicking on and winning some silverware. Ollie had some gilt-edged chances last night and didn’t convert them, I think he’s an important part of Unai’s system but he needs to put the chances away.

Wouldnt get too carried away with yesterdays game boys - one of the worst Everton performances I have seen in 50 years. Another relegation battle for this shower of shite. Given that Villa looked strong, and took their foot off the gas in the second half or they could have had 7 or 8

We lost a young Evertonian last week in the terrible accident, and the villa fans joining in with the tribute on 26 minutes was very much appreciated by all us blues - great touch from great fans

Good luck for the rest of the season Villa, just hope we visit villa park again next season

Unfortunately Everton remind me of Villa from around 2012 until we eventually dropped into the Championship in 2015/16. There’s only so many times you can flirt with that trapdoor before you drop.

One potential glimmer of hope is that there are going to be teams worse than Everton this season, Luton and Sheffield look nailed on for relegation. Everton and Wolves will be down there and there’s usually another side that struggles like Leicester did last season. So from 5 perm 3.

Good luck for the rest of the season!

I like that we are still under the radar so to speak. If you look at the results since Unai came in we are third in the league behind Man City and Liverpool and the “big six” obsessed media will not like that at all and will deal with us by playing don’t look.

I think Chelsea are too disjointed and will again struggle to get into a European place. Spurs should finish in the top three and Brighton are a great side but are beatable as the Villa proved a few weeks ago. So it’s down to Newcastle and Villa to battle it out for fourth and fifth place.

Putting aside the fact that I’m a Villa fan, it’s good to see other clubs at the top end of the table. Long May that continue.

City will win it again, which is incredibly boring. Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs will be fighting for 2nd and 3rd so after that with luck Villa and Newcastle will be in the mix.

Chelsea and United will continue to struggle with no clear playing style from either side and from the outside looking in United are a club in a complete mess on and off the pitch.

There was a fantastic pro-Unai article in the Times yesterday, but at the same time in the Telegraph Carragher basically said that we will lose Unai when a big club comes calling. He stopped short of mentioning Man Utd but that was the inference, it annoyed me until I remembered that we sacked his mate!

There isn’t a rivalry between Villa and Wolves. There never has been and there never will be.

I’m still in dreamland, at first I thought it would be the Villa under the cosh and hanging on to secure three points but no we completely outplayed them and it was a joy to see. If we can beat Arsenal on Saturday then we are in the mix for a top four finish.

I don’t think Villa will finish top of the league, that will be between Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City - despite their recent form - but beyond that Villa can finish in a CL spot.

I’m still buzzing and love it when your team make you as happy as a kid on Christmas morning. In Unai we trust.

The 7-2 games was one of those freak events. Liverpool were awful and everything seemed to go villa's way. To score and hold on vs city was much more impressive but caps off a good run.

As an Arsenal fan, was watching the match last night and Man City looked completely outclassed by Villa.

Got a great manager in Unai, look after him better than we did!

Was a great game, great result and a great atmosphere. Will obviously not win the league but top 4 is well within our reach if consistent with performances!

I’m not getting carried away but OMG I’m dreaming!

It’s a wonderful time to be a Villa fan right now. Since Unai Emery came in a little over a year ago we have consistently winning games and going about our business somewhat under the radar. We are now firmly on everyone’s radar.

I would have been happy with two points from our last two home games so to get six points is fantastic. I don’t think we will win the league but like Leicester City a few years ago, sometimes the stars align and an unfancied/unfashionable club comes out on top.

I can continue to dream!

After having a £2 bet on Cameron Archer to score and Sheffield United to win 1-0 at Villa Park , Villa's 97th minute equaliser meant I didn't collect £350 winnings , so , sorry Villa fans but you ain't my favourite club at the moment

Wouldn't be too disappointed if you do win The League though

Hi all. I took time out from Fab but back now, we are doing incredibly well, but the media hate it. Same as when we win the European Cup, no where near the coverage of Liverpool or Man U.

And we ( as did Man U ,Liverpool and Forrest) won it when it was knock out and actual champions not 4th place.

Give me a choice between 4th and winning the FACup I take the FA cup every time.

Frustrating game on Sunday. Ref was appalling, he booked Casemiro for nothing, totally incompetent. We had a lot of very bad decisions against us including that he was offside for their first goal. Don’t know how he gets games other than it’s just one big boys club.

What a fantastic result!

Almost six years ago to the day we lost 3-1 at home to QPR in the Championship, now we are in the quarter finals of a European competition. In Unai we trust and a huge thank you to Nas and Wes too, I love those guys.

Hope Ollie’s cut knee isn’t too serious, it was though the whole ground held its breath when he went down!

We've lost form of late. Very hit and miss.

Last weekend against Brentford was a must win but we somehow managed to draw to a piss poor team.

It's going to be touch and go now whether we finish fourth.

Need a good performance on Thursday and hopefully that will give the players a boost for the forthcoming Premier league games.

I wasn't expecting much this year to be honest other than progress. So finishing the season in 5th, will be a great result

If you’d have said to me back in August that we would lose one of our best players for the season in the week before the season started followed by losing our best and most influential defender for the season 30 minutes into the first game then I’d have said we would struggle.

To be in a European Quarter final and in 5th place in the PL is a fantastic achievement. We can still finish fourth, we’ve certainly made it much more difficult for ourselves but in Unai we trust!
