So I'm sure they closed at 175 comments, but seen some tonight over that??

If several people are in the process of writing posts as the thread approaches the 175, all of them are accepted. It's sort of "you've started so you are allowed to finish". This can push it over the 175. I don't know what the record number would be, but I have seen threads reach 180.
