Read/unread/deleted?

I’m curious as to the status of the above?

Deleted speaks for itself presumably.

Unread could mean inbox is jammed full or not interested maybe?

Read but no reply and not deleted could mean can’t be bothered to delete or come back later?

What’s your ‘mail etiquette’?

Don’t get many messages but do try to reply to all even if it polite no thanks. Accept for when first sign back up again and forget to set filters and blokes message despite it clearly saying straight.

Same here but I guess all us chaps reply as we get so few messages, especially compared to the ladies I’d imagine.

Hope those filters are working! I didn’t know there are filters to be honest. I’d better check mine!!

Do yourself a favour and delete messages out of your sent box. Nothing helpful comes of monitoring what happened to a message you sent. If you get a reply, great. Otherwise, let it pass from your mind.

Read and no reply from my side usually means that I don't know what to reply or that I have not got round to it yet.

Or it could be a message that is saying so little that I don't even bother replying that I'm not interested and I just delete it.

Err..I deleted hundreds this week. I usually read first and last sentence. Most of the time I do know after opening line. It just works or doesn't. Out of hundreds I replied to about 10 or less. If I read and deleted it means not interested. I didnt open it yet.. it just means I didn't get round to it.

Once a message has been sent, that's up to them what and how they do things.

All that matters to the sender is the reply (if there is one) and what kind of reply that is.

We delete all sent unless it needs to be saved as they are there grouped in inbox anyway. We always try to reply to all messages even if no thanks politely, only time we don’t and delete immediately is when it isn’t a humane message haha

There can be many reasons for unread or not replied.

Some like a tidy inbox, others aren't so bothered.

I often leave messages unread to show my partner or because we're discussing and haven't yet decided on a reply.

Like I said though, don't let your outbox concern you so much, your inbox is the one that matters

Sometimes I leave a message unread if I'm deciding to reply or not.

Some days l'll read a message and then mark it as unread as I don't feel like dealing with it.

To be honest I rarely read messages that aren't from people that I already know, so the vast majority of mine stay unread...even when I was looking to meet I've always preferred to message people that I like the look of. I've only ever met one person who I didn't initiate contact with though, it's just the way that I like to do things.

I don't get unsolicited messages so for me it isn't an issue.

On the odd occasion I send one, I delete it so I have no idea if it's been read, ignored or deleted.

The only ones I keep at of those people that I speak to on a regular basis

Put the same effort into answering messages as the person who has sent messages so hi how are you doing just get deleted a genuine question will be answered but most of the time if you read our profile we shouldn't get any messages at all.

My thought. Fab states read mail , no reply = not interested. ?

My reason for ? . A lot of females and couples complain about having to many mails in inbox. So if read not interested . They should delete which to me makes sense. Clears inbox etc. If perhaps interested , Can read , then mark as unread. Save for later . ?

We generally do this.

However, to you it makes sense, to others it just leads them to message again and again asking if we're not interested, or suggesting reasons to tempt us.

In a perfect online world, each person would act accordingly.

This isn't a perfect online world.

Many personalities all combining or clashing and leaving people to adapt how they handle messages here.

Best thing to do is send the message, then don't think about what's happened to it, just wait to see if your inbox lights up
