Having just taken a dose of Night Nurse and almost chucked it up… what’s the drink that you can’t face… as well as night nurse it’s Pernod for me..

*disclaimer - I’ve taken night nurse. The chances of me contributing any more to this thread than this opening message are slim

When we were in Samos some years ago I didn't feel well. The owner of a small taverns we went to often have me some of his home made raki swearing it would cure me. Well!

I did more than grimace, I don't know how I swallowed it to be honest

. It didn't cure me either

The most despicably foul-tasting, disgusting, gut-wrenching, stomach-churning, eye-watering concoction ever invented by any human is definitely: Pripsen.

This was a medicine containing piperazine that was used to treat pinworm infestations in humans.

Thankfully, its use has been discontinued in the UK and Ireland due to raw materials supply problems.

It was utterly horrendous; no words could adequately convey the appalling taste.
