Practise doesn’t make perfect Perfect practise makes perfect You need to me consciously trying to improve when practising. Otherwise your just going through the motions

"Some people have no talent for certain things and no amount of practice will change that I guess? Depends on their base level and their expectations" I'm probably hang up here on the word "Perfect". They could become average or fairly good at something. But not necessary "perfect"? As in top level?

"Because if that is the case, why are there so many shit drivers on the road? But driving aside, do you think that practice really makes perfect?" Well you don't really know if those shit drivers weren't even worse 2 years ago, or half a year ago...it's kinda' hard to measure their improvement isn't it. But to answer your question, yes, practice makes perfect, However as someone else mentioned it, there has to be the desire of improving...am I better at cleaning my toilet than I was 10 years ago (as I done that every freaking day) - most likely, was the objective to improve my cleaning skills, while I was doing it? Nope, and I never cared to measure my improvement, so ultimately I do not know (nor do I care). Now, for the things that I do care and want to improve, I know for a fact that practice makes perfect

"Because if that is the case, why are there so many shit drivers on the road? But driving aside, do you think that practice really makes perfect?" Yes. The more you practise a skill the more it becomes hard wired or second nature. The less you practise or use a skill the more synapses die and you are less sharp at that skill. The reason for SHIT drivers on the road is that during their practise they practise SHIT driving.... not good driving.

"Because if that is the case, why are there so many shit drivers on the road? But driving aside, do you think that practice really makes perfect?" Because they are in an insulated box that protects you and gives you a false sense of security Personlly i think every driver should be forced to do a CBT and ride a motorbike for a year. That in my opinion will improve alot peoples awareness and general driving skill. You are punished a lot harder for your mistakes on a bike. Same with the awareness of the road worthiness of your vehicle. Bald tyes, dodgy brakes ect. I would never of left the house without first checking my tyres and chain. When was the last time you checked the tyres on your car? As i have said before you are very aware of your own mortality when you are metre from a spinning HGV wheel the size of you in the rain and wind

They are slow & tip over on corners! That would sort out the boy/girl racers! You'd be forced to gain new skills. ![]() ![]()

"Some people have no talent for certain things and no amount of practice will change that I guess? " This. If you have no aptitude at all for something, doing it over and over again isn't going to help.
