Alpha or beta

I feel that these definitions are so often confused because of self proclaimed ‘alphas’ telling the world what it means to be one or how bad it is to be beta

I am genuinely interested to know what you think and alpha or beta is. It can be any gender orientation

Alpha and beta are both positive traits, just different types

For example an alpha is the type of guy a woman wants to take home and fuck

A beta is the type of guy a woman wants to marry

A great guy will have both alpha and beta traits.

I wear a dress and appear feminine in public, so obviously not an Alpha then. However ever tried it, walk down the road exposing a side to yourself that can be open to ridicule or abuse ?

Alpha behaviour or beta it’s all bollocks, I can brag off about all the really manly stuff I’ve done down the years but on here I’m a guy in a dress.

Judge people on how they are personally, not if they fall into some made up category.

bit of both.

Afaik pevking orders exist in some species. But the idea of an alpha wolf was based on captivity and it's more social irl.

But if there is an alpha, betas are wannabe alphas vying for the top rather than submissive cucks.

I'm not really well read here tbh. But had a look when I was dipping toes in manosphere stuff ... And came to tej conclusion it was a bit pseudo science to try and justify anger at women.

My take anyway.

The only time I've seen the term 'alpha' thrown around is on a single woman's profile. Something along the lines of 'only interested in alpha males so if you ain't one, ain't interested'

What that means or what they desire from that, I'm not really sure. Granted, this does not include the entire demographic of single females whatsoever, it's just a common link I have seen numerous times.

What does beta mean? Or alpha for that matter

It’s just waffle used to try and label someone or something as better than something else which is just wrong. Everyone is different but no one is more important than anyone else.

And from personal experiences any man who describes himself as Alpha is a red flag to me and someone I would avoid having anything to do with because they are using it as a title with the wrong contexts for its use.

This is incorrect Tea. You are I think referring to a single study of captive wolves which was later withdrawn by the author. But the term 'alpha' is widely used to describe the dominant figure (s) in many species, not least our close primate relations.

The terms alpha and beta have often been misused for personal or political reasons but this does not mean they are wholly inapplicable to Homo Sapiens, although there is relatively little serious research on the subject. Many resist this because they are unable to accept that humans are just another animal species.

I always wonder how research can be done. Society evolves quicker than a species. Eg marriage feels like a societal construct more than being part of homo spaien genetic make up.

If you are talking marriage that again is from organised religion. Though many species only mate with one for life.

How the animal kingdom chooses a mate on these terms is not unlike how we as humans would choose.

"Beta" is something arseholes call other people.

More manosphere brainrot. Bin and ignore.

have to agree with this. There is almost nothing that is a bigger turn off than a guy messaging and saying how he is an alpha male and I should meet him. Ah no thanks it just conjures up images of a misogynistic bully to me .

Exactly. Anyone who subscribes to this rubbish is already well on their way along the PUA-MRA-MGTOW-incel-terrorist pipeline. If they aren't already a danger to women, they will be soon.

I think that’s a huge leap to terrorist

Huge? That’s an understatement

It's a trajectory, not a leap. Recognised radicalisation pathway to violence.

From using the term alpha male it's a recognised radicalisation pathway to violence? And "female" too?

It’s pretty simple really

Anyone that uses the internet is only a leap away from radicalisation and violence. It’s a trajectory, not a leap "

Anyone on the internet. Oh right.

So we are all going to become radicalised and violent because we use the Internet? Then why are you using it for fab? Are you not worried that you will be recruited into some cell?

I am genuinely not interested in such definitions

I am quite happy to just 'be'

As with most men I am likely to exhibit traits of both

I think some guys try too hard to be 'men'

It's damaging

I was hoping you’d see the satire in my comment. Obviously it wasn’t ridiculous enough. Let me try again.

It’s pretty simple really.

Anyone with hands could potentially access the internet, and potentially fall down the incel rabbit hole

Thus, anyone with functioning hands should be classed as a terrorists threat

No worries, I’m completely ok your side

His opinion of “anyone using these words is a potential threat” is on the same level as calling anyone Thats Muslim a terrorists. It’s fear mongering at its best and it’s a sign he’s spent far too long online

If you have to ask and/or they have to tell you what they are or advertise it in any way, then I would question that. Look for the one enjoying time with their friends and how they interact with others, or does that person tell you or advises and encourages you during a conversation. It all depends on if you are looking for the real person’s traits or a role play front I think.

I like sigma70 myself . The sum of …. 51 years of experience. A lot of vodka was involved in coming up with that deep meaning …. I must stay away from vodka … I do come up with some nonsense
