Tell me about all the quirky, unique places you visited or want to, please!

I've just been to Vagina Museum !

And I'm in love with my vulva again

Pretty empowering place. Apparently the only one of this kind in the world. There is a penis museum in Iceland I believe?

Your suggestions don't have to be sex themed. Just something out of the box, not from a usual tourist guide

Thanks

Haha there was a 1000 elements puzzle with vagina wall photo. Casts of different vaginas captured by an artist. You could get a poster too.

You can visit Chernobyl now. In fact I think there is a whole “black” tourism industry where you can visit places where horrific events took place

There's a penis park in Korea. It's basically just sculptures of penises. It's like the school book of a teenage boy was 'brought to life'.

Newcastle-under-Lyme

I visited Surgeons Hall museum in Edinburgh where they have pathology exhibits (diseased body organs in jars and the like) and found it absolutely fascinating. It’s sort of connected to my job but I do have a love of the macabre as well.

Great Yarmouth used to have the world's worst waxwork museum but it closed in 2012. Google for some truly awful efigies.

Palermo Catacombs in Sicily

Around 8000 mummified corpses all dressed and on display along the walls. Seems really creepy until you find out it used to quite traditional in Sicily to display your departed loved ones in this way, visit them, talk to them.

Believe it or not, I had sex in the Ripleys believe it or not on Hollywood Blvd. Its was late at night and not many people there. Kinda eerie and cool. They opened one in London and it had none of the atmosphere of the Hollywood one (or the hot Latino boys that worked there)

I remember them like this in Rome when I was a kid, when I returned as an adult no bodies around. Asked the guide why and he said they have all had to be moved to the lower levels, as people were stealing bones on the tour

There's a village in France that was evacuated during the war, and it's been preserved exactly as it was left with people's belongings in the houses

Interested in this, only aware of Oradour-sur-Glane, preserved ruins for a very different reason.

Oradour-Sur-Gleine

It wasn't evacuated

The SS suspected there was a resistance cell in the village

They locked the villagers in the church and set fire to it

The village stands as it was that day as a memorial to them
