Fell asleep super early as I had quite a day, pretty sure I’m going through my time of the month as it’s been a fucking roller coaster ride the past couple of days.

Anyway, I was thinking, does anyone feel kinda sad when people you been getting on with on fab just suddenly leave? Or even just people who you saw around and then realise they have deleted their accounts and left quietly without saying bye to anyone. It kinda gives me a bitter (sad) after taste

Obviously everyone has got their reasonings, life happens (I took a little break last week as I needed time for me for example), and everyone’s got their priorities but also it really makes me wonder… what’s real and what’s not.

How that it seems like we are just all avatars and pictures and profiles online for some, when in fact there’s a person with emotions behind that avatar.

I’m rambling but yeah, I hope I’m not the only one feeling this way

Also I better go eat, as I’m starving… and go back to sleep

Bham

Snap, I fell asleep early too hence why I'm awake now.

I see what you're saying. Yeah it's a bummer when someone you were clicking with goes. That's just fab life. Great when they reappear though.

Totally , especially when you think you made a connection with that person, had a laugh with them … then ‘puff’ they gone !!!

Then you have those that delete accounts and make new ones ??? What that about

I have left a few times without making a song and dance about it, but it doesn't make me any less genuine. Sometimes it's easier to slip off quietly then explain to people. Revolving door of fab I guess.

Yes but then say if you had some sort of good connection with somebody, and then u decide u want to disappear (this can be on any app btw online this is general) it is kinda a bit like.. well u are an online person to me, so it doesn’t matter if I tell u that I’m gonna be gone forever because u are just online (or just a set of pics to me)

I don’t know I find its kinda “sad”

.

I've found it kind of sad before. Especially if you have no other way of contacting them - it says that you're not that important, invalidates things that might have been said before.

It does make me feel a bit sad in a selfish way - I can understand and respect why people leave but it doesn't mean it's a bit cold. I don't know. I guess because I like to think I build a decent rapport/friendship and it's a stark, harsh reality that the other person doesn't quite see you like that.

(It's happened twice )

It is sad when people leave but if they were my friend I'd be chatting to them away from Fab anyway

But I get what you mean, it can be sad not to see them around whether you chat or not

South Wales

They may have sent a lovely long goodbye message but once they leave I think it gets deleted?

Isn’t this why some do a goodbye thread and also hang around for a few hours for folk to read individual messages?

But yes, there is always a bit of an “awww bloody hell!” moment when they just bugger off without so much as a “ta-ra”.

Manchester (he/him)

I understand your thoughts.

There was a time when people would do leaving threads to collect information from friends and to say goodbye, then people started slating others as dramatic and attention seeking for doing it, so it’s stopped. Which is sad.

To my mind, people leave for lots of reasons, sometimes they just want to cut all ties, irrespective of connections or rapport. As sad as that may be, it’s the nature of the site.

I try not to forget that there is a complex human behind the words on the screen, that we’re all subject to the same human frailties and as in life, relationships can change quickly.

It is sad when people leave, it leaves a hole but such is the nature of life. It’s often not a judgement on you or your connection but about them and their needs

Of course, I totally understand what you mean, and I know it’s mostly about them and what they need in the moment but I can’t help but feel that it does leave a little hole behind and I guess sometimes people care, despite some think we don’t or that we are that generation where everyone moves at 500mph so it should be okay.

I don’t know, I’m a girl that feels too much sometimes.. hey ho, to all those who have gone, I hope they will be happy xx x

Regarding the bye threads, I think it’s nice to see them as you kinda know who made a decision to go,

Especially if they were active on the forum!

I certainly if I were gonna delete my profile I’d like to say my goodbyes, not for the attention, but because I can collect some contacts with the ones I created a connection with, and also those who I didn’t but shared some messages on the forum, i find it like its closing a chapter and letting them know as I know they are people. Maybe they won’t give a shit about it but I’d like to think that they do to a tiny extent and not wonder like “what happened to Kylie, she just left”

I don’t know , I guess Im a girl who always cares too much x
