Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've tried it but not a huge fan as it can be quite strong. I prefer haggis.

I like a slice of it under an individual steak and kidney pudding! Adds a little extra something and is always a surprise for my guests!

I only eat black pudding at breakfast/brunch, however, being oriental, I do like a bit of pig's blood in gravy from time to time.

Not many places offer this dish, so I have not had any for years!

Black pudding is wonderful eaten with a strong cheese like a Wensleydale

Traditional products like black pudding etc are some much overlooked delicacies IMHO.

Just fry it in the pan with a minimum of oil. Some of it can turn mushy, but, if it's proper stuff from a good old fashioned butchers shop you stand a much better chance of it staying in one piece when it's cooked

The Lidl's ones don't have chunks of fat in them.

Had some in Scotland and they fell apart when I was pan-frying them, and soaked up lots of oil!

Love Lorne sausage but it's only something I've eaten since moving from the east as we're more inclined to eat link. Black pudding is amazing either with a cooked breakfast or on a roll with Brown sauce. It's got to be spicy tho. Yum yum

Quite agree on the Lidl BP, it's lovely and doesn't fall apart on cooking.

Quite like it a larger slice with a poached egg on top and a side salad.

Liking the sound of the scallops people mentioned too.

Have also had chicken breast stuffed with it and wrapped in pancetta, sweet potato mash and red onion gravy.

The number of times I`ve seen black pudding offered at hotel buffet breakfasts on to find they`ve kept it "warm" under those heat lamps and I served up a portion of black pudding biscuits!
