I watched life under the waves last night and the internal shudders took over

Do you suffer...

Could you cope for 120 days in a submarine... with all the same sex before anyone gets any ideas

Maybe. I'd find it harder to be surrounded by people for 120 days straight..

Absolutely not. I couldn't manage 120 seconds. It makes me breathless just reading this thread.

There was literally no privacy and two people shared a bed in rotation

What made it worse was they showed them dive on camera, literally felt like you were going down with them

Nope. I'd be the one running around trying to open doors and babbling.

Hell no. But maybe could do it by myself.

This is something I suffered with many years ago and it was linked to stress and anxiety.

As long as I could control the anxiety I would be ok

I love submarines. The technology, how they work, all of that. I’ve even been lucky enough to see some in real life.

Would I want to work on one for 120 days at a time? Hell no, haha! Too cramped for me.

They are fascinating machines, I was amazed that they even had a fridge inside though

No way I’m not good in lifts despite using them where I don’t want to walk up endless flights of stairs. I’d never experienced it in a less enclosed space until during covid. I was in the supermarket and I just had to get out. I think it was the combination of the mask and fear of ppl coming near me

It was - we were in New York at Intrepid. So glad we went but the sub was my least favourite bit. It was an old & small one so not as spacious and lots of holes to climb through

Yes, the submarine would not be a problem but do like my own space and so being stuck with others and no way of getting away from them would be my issue.

All the mod cons available, albeit small and squeezed in wherever they can fit. The newer ones are a bit bigger too, but both are positively enormous compared to the subs they had in WW2.

OMG no way, my chest tightens up just reading that!! I’m severely claustrophobic, have to drive with the window open, and never close internal doors in my house! I’d best go run around the garden naked now to shake that anxious feeling off haha

Changed, you become used to things you think you wouldn’t although after you do seem as if you have a super sense till it dies back down.

That would be so cool, no different from being in a plane apart from the duration.

I have a friend whos in the Navy on a sub and he cant tell people where he is going.

Once is underwater it very rarely cames back up.

I can only handle planes purely because they have windows

On the programme they skated over the confidentiality of missions and they actually showed a lot more than I thought they would tbh, it was a very interesting programme

Worthing

Don't have a problem with confined space or others around me. What I would find a problem is if the sewage disposal system failed. What we take for granted becomes a huge problem if that stops working!

"I want to know what happens when someone farts "

Same as in the bath: bubbles.

No one is allowed to fart while submarines are submerged as the bubbles give away their location

Hilarious.

It could be a counter measure: you find the sub hunting you by making them laugh
