Once you get the breathing correct it's much easier to keep swimming lengths, and it's a really good workout, and a good workout clears ypur head.

The only time I like a pool is when I need to get off my sun lounger to cool down before getting back on it again.

Personally I do it because I’m an early riser so I go for what I call the heart attack group.. bunch of beautiful (Love a fat body) chunky older men who are told exercise more or die time slot. It’s around 6.30am to 8 and there cheerful. But you do have to swim in a coordinated way or piss folk off system. To be fair it’s exercise and burns the rum from

Night before off lol and I feel

Weightless while I there

I love it. I used to do long distance swimming for hours, it really helps clear some of the mental clutter and white noise.

I am not a very good swimmer but I find it's helpful for back pain. I go 4 times a week, when I could not go due to lock down it was back on the pills. Three days back in the pool after lock down all good again

Love swimming! My sister has a lovely pool in her garden! But she goes to the local leisure centre to swim because she likes to do lengths! I tell her just go round and round instead! Crazy woman! X

There uses to be a women's only private gym near me with a pool. I'd go at 7 am before work and it would be empty so it was like having my own pool. Its gone now but those lone saunas and swims were bliss. I'm shit at swimming but I like the floating feeling. I'd try out flotation tanks if they weren't so expensive.

"Who likes swimming lengths in a pool? I love splashing about in a pool,I can swim...but swimming lengths just bores me....how do you do it? What do you think about? "

Once you get the breathing right and get into a nice comfortable rhythm, I find that I really switch off and it clears my head.

I also find it easier to keep going than with other forms of cardio as you are being cooled by the water.

And no punishment on my dodgy ankle. All good!

I like going for a dip on a holiday, but I can’t swim for exercise, I just find it so boring, and I don’t like it going in my eyes because it irritates them.

You should try open water swimming, I love swimming in rivers, lakes or the sea. The views are better and the temperature change is exhilarating too xx

I would definitely do this, but I just don’t have the time to get to the nearest sea/lake

Agreed! It’s the only time where I can actually not think of anything because I’m thinking of swimming and breathing and I’m surrounded by water

I love doing lengths x
