Nearly 1500 dolphins slaughtered in this year's Grind. Described as "the only remaining example of aboriginal whaling", Faroe Islanders shepherd the poor creatures up onto a beach where they are gleefully slaughtered by members of the local community in a tradition going back to the 9th century.

Personally, I feel it should be stopped. It's horrendous in the 21st century. Fox hunting was an old tradition, and that was stopped, why is this still allowed to continue?

What are your views?

I do not know enough about the practice itself to comment with authority on the subject.

However,

If it's purely for tradition and serves no pragmatic porpoise, I abhor it.

If it's essential to their survival and this is how they garner their food / resources, I feel differently about it.

And you think fox hunting has stopped?

There isn't a single valid reason for it yet many hunts were given the very same grants during covid as businesses were and only one hunt has proven that it actually conforms to trail hunting rules.

Week in week out hunts are filmed chasing and often killing foxes with dogs (against the law) and many also practice cubbing as well.

Mankind had a way of making the very worst kind of cunts and patting itself on the back for it's disgraceful practices against mother nature.

Not a fan of it.

Seems a lot of countries have to abide by decades old whaling laws but some get a pass. Yes, yes they're porpoises. Still close enough for me.

The Japanese slaughter is far and away heart breaking.

Having been diving for thirty-two years and having had many encounters with dolphins I try not to even watch the footage anymore. It only brings anger to my heart.

But then, that is their culture. It will ultimately be left to them if they want to ever quit practicing that tradition. Along with shark finning. A truly sad tradition. But it is THEIR tradition.

You'd think it could unless it's involving the senseless slaughter and bloodlust of animals.

There are humane ways of doing things if absolutely necessary but tradition is what really matters.

Personally I would love to see these sport hunters go head to head against an apex predator of any kind as long as they're not given the tools to do so....let the hunters become food and let nature run it's own course in culling the vermin (sport hunters)

Maybe I shouldn't have hidden my sarcasm so much....I abhor hunting.

I'd happily drop any hunter naked and unequipped right next to a pack of hungry hyenas and tell them they're on their own and now they'll see how real hunting is done
