Tomorrow marks the 11th annervasry of the terrible events that happened that day!!

Just finished reading a book on 9/11 called 120 minutes, what must have been going through those poor peoples minds that were in the towers and the innocent passengers on the planes!!

Still shocks me till this day

It was so shocking, even now i find it difficult to get my head around it. It was like it was the plot for some awful film. I think most people will always remember where they where when they heard about it.

Remember watching the 2nd plane hit on the news didn't realise it was live at the time.

Can still remember the hairs standing up on the back of my neck the same as they did when i head we had lost Diana.

11 years wow xx

I remeber being woken up and told it was going on. my parents were on a flight at the time which was very worrying.

my house mates (irish) mum told us all to be very carefull as liverpool was terribly badly bombed during 'the war' which is funny now but goes to show the fears that were around at the time...

Swindon to bristol

I was at Newark airport waiting for a flight back to the UK. The airport forecourt has a view over Manhatton.It took several hours to evacuate the airport

It was a terrible, awful day...Needless to say it was over a week till I got home.

One of my American friends is a NYPD cop and was on duty that day. When we meet up he has told me things about it but he saw things that he cannot to this day speak about.

I've been to ground zero a few times and it never fails to shock me. It is so different now to the first time I saw it when it was basically just a building site.

I was delivering food to a nursing home and all the staff were round the telly ,I stood and watched with them as the second plane hit, i'll never forget the silence and the horrified looks on the faces.

Me and my mum were shopping and saw it on the TV.. At first we thought it was a movie trailer it was that surreal... My now ex husband joined the US Army the day after the attacks...

I was working at a Royal Navy training base on that day - car full of electronics and wires etc! Suddenly everything got VERY tense and we had to leave. No explanations, just that the alert status had gone through the roof - needless to say, we found out as soon as we got back to the hotel we were staying in!

The next day was a nightmare to get back in to finish our work, but they allowed us back - with an ARMED escort at all times!

Scary and a day I will never forget!

Have also been to ground zero and it was one of the most moving days of my life.

I was sitting in a bar in India, the sound was turned down on the tv and thought it was a film until they kept showing it over and over again. Got the staff to turn the volume up. We were so shocked!

was at work in my signal box when i heard on five live of the first plane hitting then when they said about the second one i thought strait away of terrorist had just finnished reading tom clancys dept of honour which involves an airliner crashing on congress spookily prophetic at the time !

I remember walking in from school when the first tower fell and thought what a cool film thats on, soon realised the reality when i seen my gran crying.

i was driving at work at the time i heard the news ,can even remember the exact peice of road i was on ,and watching news all night long ,still watch the documentaries on tv cos still seems so unreal

We were living in Vienna at the time and I just happened to put CNN on as didn't have many English channels. I'll never forget when the 2nd plane hit and when towers fell.

But what also will stay with me is all the anti American posters and groups cheering in heart of Vienna over the nxt few days. I know it's a big city and everyone has the right to their oppinions but it really upset me snd made me feel very uncomfortable. I'm American but even if I wasn't I could never cheer the death of innocent lives

I was working as a web developer at the time and most of my clients were shipping and banking companies in the City. One of them rang me yelling at me to turn his site off, and when I questioned why he screamed "Turn the frigging telly on!". I asked wtf was going on and he said a plane had hit one of the twin towers and at that moment the second plane hit. The financial markets were in freefall and his clients were losing millions. He lost four clients when the towers fell and another customer of mine lost dozens of her friends who all worked for Cantor Fitzgerald.

I sat glued to the tv all day watching it all unfold. It was probably the most memorable day of my life, but for all the wrong reasons.

It's also my parents wedding anniversary on 9/11, and they don't enjoy it as much as they used to.

Several cousins all had lucky escapes. One still has PTSD.

I will never forget where and what I was doing and the chaos of my staff trying to get hold of their families and friends in NYC.

I was in a lecture during my nursing training and received a text from my ex saying a plane had just crashed into the Twin Towers. I remember thinking it was a poor start to a joke and waiting for the punchline. Then he told me it was true and I told my friend who was sitting next to me. She suddenly burst into tears and ran out of the lecture hall. It turns out her father-in-law worked in one of the towers. It took her several hours before she knew that he had been one of the lucky ones to escape.

I spent the next 24hrs completely glued to the TV coverage as events unfolded before our eyes. An incredibly tragic event that will be remembered in history for generations to come. A sad example of the damage and hurt humans can cause eachother .

a lot of people know my story... i flew out of new york city two days earlier... and was working my first day for american express...

I remember them frantically asking if people had american relatives or people in new york to come into an office...

that is when they told us about plane 1 and the smoke...

then plane 2 hit, pulled us back off the main floor and said anyone who wanted to go home could....

i had relative who worked at the UN, at the american express building, and in midtown and they all got out safely...

but I lost 6 damn fine friends in the 2 buildings that day... 3 from morgan stanley, 3 from cantor fitzgerald

I don't normally work on 9/11, this is the first one I am working so I will see how it goes....

Without wishing to seem sick, I watched live as the second plane hit (on TV that is) and it was the most unbelievable and spectacular thing I've ever seen.

I don't say that to offend but it was amazing how far (or how low) Al Qaeda were prepared to go to get what they wanted, whatever that is. Yet they sowed the whirlwind yet reaped an H bomb in comparison.
