"In this day and age and how intelligent people are in design and manufacture, it sometimes astounds me how some things are still not that advanced. For example… I saw on the news a woman who had her voice box removed and now she has to press a valve on her throat to talk. It seems she really has to push hard and the sound that comes out is really quiet. So why don’t we have better technology for such things? I imagine a voice box that automatically shuts the valve to create sound and also amplifies it to a level required. Even some kind of pitch control and a setting to talk in other languages. Yeah I wouldn’t know where to begin with designing it, but the point is why is this not a thing already? Have you ever wondered why some products or solutions don’t exist? Transporter beam perhaps? " Why isn’t fitting electrically controlled amplifiers, speakers, microphones and valves into someone throat not already a thing? Is that actually a question?

" Well when I watched the report she had no voice and had to make do with something that she hated, as she was a soprano singer before the operation, so what I’m saying is why isn’t something made that is better than a crappy valve she has to press really hard to then get next to no noise out of her mouth?

" There might be if you have the money to affirm it, maybe a small machine you place onto your throat to attempt to amplify the voice But can you think of any issues involved with putting basically a car stereo in someone’s throat?
