Long enough to grab your attention is better than the 'fill in later' or just one line. Too long I forget what I have read

I prefer a long expressive profile than a short non expressive one.

If the pictures grab enough interest, people will read, if they don't read, we already feel we're not like minded.

Depends on how it starts, if the first couple of lines are just bullet points of what they don't like and a rant about types of messages they receive (you know they types) then we just stop reading and move on.

If it is more measured or funny then we will read it.

I think they can do what they want with their own profile if it doesn't interest me I won't read it .

I don't read them, they are often long winded and full of demands, requirements or chest puffing.

I prefer medium to short myslf.

Depends on the content… read a really long one tonight that was fabulous and gave a really good feel for the person behind it.

Really short chapters are ok.

If it looks like it's going to take 15 minutes to read, we'll give it a miss!

With the long ones usually half of it is about Sydney University and so that's a no then.

As someone mentioned above, it's all about the content. Some people are very descriptive about themselves and what they are looking for, which helps me decide easily without having to do the back and fourth of messaging.

I myself have a long profile because of my niche interests. It doesn't make sense for me to not say what I want in my profile and then waste my time and others' time.

If it’s a long list of no’s/we hate this and that then it’s

If it’s good content then we learn a lot from that.

I’d rather see a long profile than a sentence. Shows they’ve thought about it.

Some profiles are exceptionally well written, whilst others are dreadful: poor spelling, poor punctuation, etc.

If a really long profile is entertaining and retains my interest I will read it to the end.

Mostly, I prefer short profiles: concise, crisp, clear but containing the essential elements.

I just find these long profiles so demanding and self indulgent.

I think it should be like a CV. Highlight what you want ,it shouldn't be a novel

What about an anthology of short stories?

I prefer to see a longer profile, that tells me about someone and their likes etc, rather than one saying ask or fill in later.

I put what I'm after/not looking for on mine and if someone chooses not to read it, it's a good filter.

Ours is probably longer than average profile, but if someone hasn't got the attention span to read something for 1-2, then they are hardly going to worth investing time into.

Yours is small, I have seen profiles the size of a kids book. Would take probably around 20-30 minutes to read.

I think my profile is fairly lengthy but it says everything that I need to say.

Often long profiles are just repeat the same thing over and over again.

I do prefer the longer ones over the 2-3 sentences as I need to get to know the person before sending out a first message

Legnth of profile us faily irrelevant very few read profiles (thats not just guys)

Said this before, if the picture doesn't get interest then profile is irrelevant long or short 1 word or 1000.

People do not read profiles, simples. They are pointless.

Also women moan about guys not putting in the effort. A lot should look at their own - then they have boobs, no effort required

I first look to see, if I am in age range . Then read profile. Yes all of it. Then check photo’s if any. Sometimes reread profile. Then I may wink or message depending on profile. ?

I guess my profile is quite long. I like profiles that give you something to work with if/when messaging starts. Those first forays into building a conversation are enhanced by being able to pick up on interests, outlook, desires and it helps you to identify potential showstoppers and confront them early on (e.g. when people say “no beards” and then contact me I can raise that).

Lists of wants and want-nots are very blunt and I prefer if that comes through in their description of themselves rather than a bullet list, but everyone has their own way of doing things. Aggressive style text is a good flag as is tone. So in short ( ) I quite like a long profile

Our profile states what we are/aren't looking for. That's important and it's what a profile is for. We're seeking a lot more than just a random horny guy with a cock and are limited in both time and distance. It's important that they know that isn't it? People can choose whether of not to read it but if they don't want to, why bother contacting us and why on earth would we bother replying to them?

The only guys we're interested in are the ones who DO read profiles and they're the ones who get a reponse. Simple really.
