Indeed they did and defeated the Caledonians in 83AD at the Battle of Mons Graupius.

They superseded Hadrian’s Wall in 142 AD with the Antonine Wall between the Firth of Forth and Clyde. It was abandoned eight years after completion.

Septimius Severus campaigned in 208 AD in central Scotland and made substantial repairs to Hadrian’s Wall.
