it reminded me I could do 70 on out local ring road. So made me drive faster !

I had to bite my lip as most of it seemed to be " cars are a lot safer now than 20 years ago. But we will stil come at you for doing 35 in a 30 limit at 2am."

It won't help you now, but in a couple of years time you won't be able to speed in a new car. They are trying to fit speed restricters to all new cars, so you can't speed.

Hope this gets sorted out, with out any additional points on the licence.

Think you will have to go to court and plead with them to keep your license, give it the I need to drive for my job, will effect finances etc and they might be ok with that.

I’ve won a few over the years, but you’re wasting your time on speeding points , you need to suck it up and stop speeding , not be an arse and pretend speeding is ok. Your best best is magistrates , they are easy to manipulate as they just normal people , just be honest and remorseful , one even helped me once by asking do you need you car to help your parents or grandparents !!

"Victimless crimes, no injured party it's all whataboutism."

Speeding isn't a victimless crime if the excess speed results in an accident. I appreciate the OP did not have an accident, but it was a speeding driver who killed my aunt (who I never met) on a zebra crossing, outside the college she attended. She was 16. If they'd been driving at the right speed, they might have stopped in time.

I got caught speeding one time quite a few years ago now 37 in a 30

But in reality My speedo would have been reading near on 40mph due to the 10% that the speedo is set lower so I really had no excuse.

you will be able to take the corse again so will not get the points but now some insurance companies have started asking if you have ever attended a speed awareness corse

You can ask if the speed camera has been calibrated in the last 12 months and if not then you have grounds to have the points overturned.

Also do a little digging on a few sites as there are known cameras that are faulty like the one in Staffordshire I think it (highest grossing UK camera) that was found to be clocking cars at 27mph then sending out fines saying they were doing between 47-57mph.

Thousands have been done by it and only one person investigated the camera which is what finally showed up the error.

No doubt the council will not be going back over the incorrect fines etc either and people have been known to have lost their jobs due to this one camera.

Same thing, it needs to have conformed to calibration controls they have in place for each camera.

No harm in enquiring although do check if you will get a time extension while doing so as some forces allow the extra time and put your fine on hold while doing so and others don't.
