I’ve made no bones about the fact that I’m a bit under the weather at the moment and not at my shiny jovial best, which has led to a conversation with a good friend. My good friend thinks that I should go and meet people, however I don’t believe that many on fab would meet someone that’s less than happy.

My question therefore is, would you meet someone to help cheer them up? Is it a dealbreaker for you if a person is in a lower mood?

Thoughts folks…

Meet to help cheer someone up, of course!

If you’re using ‘cheer someone up’ to mean ‘pityfuck’ then no; been on the receiving end of too many of those and trust me, they do NOT cheer you up

We’ve chatted in the past Tea man and if I was local to you I’d happily meet up

Fir a coffee or a pint, you’re a great guy abd I think we could definitely chew the fat over a few brews

Yes, but I wouldn’t see it as a pity party to cheer someone up, it would just be a natural result of hanging out with people.

If you want a therapy session to determine why your mood is the way it is, you'd be better off paying for one.

Well I am in a similar situation so the answer is, of course I would meet.

I've actually just tried something like this on the back of someone's Facebook post but it didn't come to anything.

.

Yes definitely, they're a friend (or friend in the making) and just spending time with them could work wonders (as long as I had the capacity to be there for someone in that way).

In terms of sex, I'd probably be a bit cautious, it depends on why they are upset really and what my relationship is like with them.

?

Somebody I didn't know? No, I don't think I would if I'm being honest.

Someone that I know and like? Absolutely, I'd offer to go for a coffee/walk/or some other fun activity with them, to either give them a chance to talk if they want to, or to give them something different for their thoughts to focus on.

Yeah I'll chat and meet anyone for a cuppa social and many have turned into therapy chats about whatever random stuff is in our minds, it's good to open up to non judgemental strangers, takes the pressure off

Yes, this ^^

Some things I find I simply can’t talk about with friends or family.

I would definitely meet up, I look a lot different as a guy though. I’m going through the mill at the moment as well so as long as they’re willing to listen to my problems as well.
