A lot of women especially will see what’s in the background of a picture. It’s often women commented on a guys pictures when they ask for profile advice.

The worst I saw was a guy with his penis in his hand over a toilet bowl, he hadn’t flushed

Not just the backgrounds of their houses - some men will screenshot their own photos instead of uploading the original and you can see the rest of their camera roll. Or the names of the people who they've sent photos to on Snapchat etc. Not much attention to detail on here these days...

My favourite was a guy sent me a picture and he had oil and toilet paper next to his bed

I always check the background.

Not only to see if it is clean & tidy, but also to see if you can tell anymore about the person(s) in the picture.

I pick up on things like books on a bookshelf or music collection. Even artwork on the walls.

It gives a very brief idea of who they are and maybe if you have something in common.

I'm always amazed at the efforts people go to avoid being identified in their pics but yet they have family photos in the background or almost as bad a very identifiable phone cover with their name on it.

On the same subject we've had self timers on phones for years now so why do so many people still take mirror selfies which reverses any logo they are wearing and clearly shows the phone they are taking the pic with?

There’s only two things it’s a fake or it was take on holiday and for the holiday then it must be a old pic because the worlds been in chaos for the last 2 years so wouldn’t expect it to be at last 3 years old and wonder why it’s been uploaded now lol

I check if contacted by a female. Their photo’s with tineye etc. But also sometimes as others have said can show if at house , flat etc. Things like something in background , that in say lived in by person. But would be removed if a photoshoot etc.
