Are you good at hiding/concealing your feelings?

Would someone be able to tell just by looking at you, if say you were sad, angry, upset etc.....

It depends on the emotion. I could hide if I fancied someone because of my shyness.

Bad at hiding them, I don't even attempt to anymore, my face gives me away.

It depends on the setting really. If I'm at work then I do quite a good poker face, outside of it and on a more personal level than no, I'm dire at hiding how I'm feeling. That's not a bad thing.

I’m good at keeping things to myself so as not to burden people unnecessarily. I also am very good at being open with the right people.

I’ve made 20 years of married based around it hehe well that’s maybe unfair… it was good for a while

I'm rubbish at hiding my feelings. I think it's always been my downfall, to be honest...

Periodically. But I found that eventually it often leads to some sort of outbursts of these compressed feelings, whether positive or negative. So fucked if you do and fucked if you don't.. better just get it out usually, unless you know the best outcome for everyone is to hold a lid on them. Not sure if it's that healthy long term.

Nope and I don’t think you should endeavour to do so either I’ll always speak my mind, some people see showing emotion/feeling as weakness when in fact it’s the total opposite.

I’m not afraid of how I feel however I’m also not naive enough to think that my feelings won’t scare others once out in the open, what someone chooses to do with them may hurt but at least I’ve been true to myself xx

I generally hide them well from strangers but then that was developed though working in corporate.

If someone gets to know me then I’m very open and honest with my feelings. Some may say blunt at times.

Nope, my face speaks a thousand words! And if you don’t see that, I’m pretty vocal too.. if you are rude, annoy or anger me, I will definitely tell you.

I promise I’m not a bad person! I’m kind to anyone until they give me a reason not to be.

Definitely not. I go red and the end of my nose goes really red when I'm trying not to cry. And I cry if I'm sad, upset and angry. I'm a very expressive person.

The only ones I even try to hide are in work...for instance I had to give a presentation to my senior VP on Monday, I was bricking it but my manager asked how I don't get scared, so I guess I did a good job of pretending not to be nervous.

In my personal life, why would I want to hide my feelings? I'm direct and can't abide silly mind games...and I much prefer others to be the same. We all have feelings, surely it's better to let them be known than presume people are psychic.

If I chose to hide my feelings then no, No-one would know the truth. The main reason I would hide them is while I cogitate before deciding how I truly feel about something. Instantly reacting to things can lead down bad paths.

Nope I’m an open book, my face gives it away plus I’m vocal.

I’ve learnt that hiding my feelings is not good for me.. it has lead to outcomes that were sad at the time but I’d rather express myself whatever the result.

At work I can, and other situations where it is needed, but on a personal level I can at times, or so I'm told, be quite quite the give away with certain expressions I may not be aware of doing/showing.

.

I used to find it very easy to say ‘I’m ok’ when I was falling apart a few years back.

So many people were asking the same question, and it was easier to just say I’m fine rather than opening up. I don’t think a lot would’ve liked the answer tbh.

This past year or so I’ve found myself quite emotional, if something upsets me my face will tell you, and if someone compliments me that makes me fill up too x

I was always massively shy and as such I couldn’t express annoyance or anger I just bottled it up

So very angry makes tears come to my eyes as I don’t shout or argue, then I feel foolish and embarrassed at myself. Other than that I’m read like an early learning book
