Just dawned on me i'm going to be turning 25 at my next birthday.. that's pretty scary as it feels like only last year i was planning my 21st bday.

Does time speed up with the older you get?

It seems to, yes.

I'll be 40 on my next birthday.

Downhill all the way from 21 I'd say.

I am looking forward to being 50 in less than 3 years' time, can't wait!

Only five years until you are 30 then...

Seriously, additional years is only a problem if you think it is.

Like you wouldn't believe! Or maybe you would, seeing as you've noticed it already...I don't know where the last 15 years went

I think it may be because when we are young there is so much change in our lives, but that tends to be less true as we get older and fall into routines. And we measure time gone by the memories of what happened during that time, so if not much happened it seems to have flown by!

So the answer is to cram in as many new experiences as you can, all the time

Then again, there was that character in Catch 22 who cultivated boredom as he thought it made time go by more slowly so he would feel he was living longer, lol.

Try both, let us know which is best!

No don't think its a problem, it has just flown by. I'm a mum to an almost 3 year old now where as back when i was younger, days would just go on and on..

Think it could be down to routine these days and how i have a lot to cram in to one day and before i know it the day is over, go to bed only to wake up and do the same type of things over again

Totally agree - we will be 52 next birthday - don't give a toss about it - we still behave like kids! Also don't see any need to 'go backwards' on our stated age here - if it puts people off so be it!

little house on the praire

When i was exactly your age i had arms and legs in my belly planning my wedding. I got married at 25, split up and then divorced when i was thirty. The year i was thirty for so many reasons was the worst year of my life.

I met jay when i was 41 and im 48 in march and its the longest relationship ive ever been in but its the one thats gone the quickest as well. Christmas's and birthdays come round quicker and the fact my baby will be 22 in a couple of weeks

I became a father when I was relatively young. Sometimes I wish I'd waited until I was older but other times I'm glad it happened the way it did.

Financially speaking it was incredibly tough and I had to make many sacrifices once I became a father. But as I'm now closing in on my forties, my son is a young adult so I'm just catching up now on all those things I missed out on when I was a twenty-something.

I just laugh at my friends and colleagues who are only now having kids because I've been there and done that. Unlike them, I know all about the nappy changing and sleepless nights and a baby being sick on your shoulder as you're supposed to be walking out of the door and the "terrible twos" and the potty training etc... etc... etc...

I don't think I'd have the energy these days to cope with having a baby now. My career has taken off so I can focus my energy on that instead of having to worry about catchment areas and child minders and school holidays.

I keep having to remind myself that I'm 43

(must be the oldtimers.... )

I just don't think about it and haven't for a long time.

I'm actually fitter, stronger and healthier than I was in my 20's,more solvent, and a lot more relaxed

Lol!!! Hell no!

And there's honestly no need! 99% of those I've met don't look (and sure as hell don't act!!!) their age!! The majority of fabsters it seems could run rings round those half their age - especially in the bedroom dept. !!!
