"Do people actually admit to eating that McDonald’s rubbish ? About as nutritious as a dead Slug " A dead slug might actually be more nutritious A lot may not admit to eating it but still do. Similar to Tory voters. Millions voted for them but you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that admits to it

" It's a vegan burger, which I guess is going to appeal to a wider audience. That is until they go and blow it by cooking it in oil or on machines they use for meat products. It will happen

Their chicken alternative is vegan though. Hopefully this will be a pure vegan product.

"What's the point of providing vegetarian or vegan products when your company slaughters millions of animals?" Appreciate your point, but it’s a start. By having it on the menu it acknowledges vegans, and the vegan lifestyle. If more people try it, great!

If you're a vegan on the grounds of animal welfare and eating at McDonald's then you are not a vegan.

" That argument would stop vegans buying their shopping, at most if not all major supermarkets, as they slaughter millions of animals a year, but they also cater for vegans. I'm not a vegan but I see they don't always get choice.

I used to be a vegan 30 years ago so I know how easy it is to do it without the use of major companies.

"I’m boycotting McDonalds because they never have milkshake in. Yet they find time to come up with a vegetarian burger option thingy! Sort it out! " Apparently it's because the staff don't want to spend 3 hours cleaning it, saw an article from an ex employee giving away all the dirty secrets

"If you're a vegan on the grounds of animal welfare and eating at McDonald's then you are not a vegan. " Applying that logic, I wouldn’t use a supermarket either! Or any retail outlets stocking anything with animal derived content… You’re argument is known to me, and lots of other vegans. Watching large corporates begin to change even in a small way, is a sign of progress. It won’t be an overnight change, but the longest journey begins with a footstep.

I managed this 30 years ago with ease. You can be vegan and not shop at major supermarkets if you want to. There are more independent shops and probably vegan farmers markets too. Mc Donald's couldn't give a flying fuck about animal welfare, the planet or anything else except making a profit. If I was considering a lifestyle change for health or compassionate reasons I would not start there.
