"Do you mean there was a higher infection rate per 100,000? I think it's more to do with the impact on the economy being greater in the North. Perhaps unsurprisingly the poorest areas felt the biggest impact. As so often, those already struggling will be hit far harder by financial difficulties than those who are in a more secure position. " I see. Hastings is one of the most disadvantaged areas in the country and people have been hit very hard indeed.

Hastings is perhaps not typical of the South East as a whole though. Slightly different note, it's been many years since I was last there but you mentioning Hastings reminded me of happy childhood memories. The fishermen's huts and a little shop selling wooden toys and stuff Mr

I was just showing that I understand how poverty impacted on the effect of corona virus economically and health wise.

The end of Hastings where the fishermans huts are is still a tourist attraction along with the little train and the funicular railway

Harold definitely existed. As to the roundabout story I couldn't say if it's true or not and I can never tell big you're serious or taking the Mick, hence I always pay you the respect of taking you seriously. What I will say is that the spot they previously believe he was killed on is quite some way from the place some now think it to be.

BUT the community attitude and feeling more than makes up for the lack of government assistance. And we have Andy Burnham!

Listening to the commentary of the events of the battle as you walk around the place where 7000 men died, and our country changed forever afterwards, was sobering. Everyone knows ‘1066, the Battle of Hastings, Harold and the arrow in his eye’, but how many have actually been there, and how many actually know the battle wasn’t even at Hastings?
