To delete messages after reading?

Do you think it as off putting your messages are read and replied but deleted afterwards?

If someone has messaged you before then their past messages show up anyway. There's no way I could keep all mine and I get a lot less then most

Prefer it tbh. As the next time, you go to message the person or couple. You get a wacking great message saying:

Warning. You've messaged this person before. Do you really want to waste your own time again.

Yet another argument for thd sent items box to be removed as a site tool! Now we can't even delete messages we've replied to!

No I don't think it's rude. I've had plenty of sent messages read and deleted doesn't bother me. If it's a big deal to you and annoying you why not just delete the sent messages and then you can't see what happens.

I think deleted means a polite no thanks

Women get 100s of messages a day they can’t reply to them all

Read the faq. Deleted = no thanks

Ignorant yes.

I do it occasionally when someone has totally ignored everything on my profile, and I'm tired and lacking patience.

He's not on about just deleting without replying. He's on about someone replying to a message then deleting the original read and replied to message!

Some of the messages need deleting as they are crass, etc, no intro etc and think they are God's gift, lol.

Exactly it's better to know that there's no interest with a deleted message than just wondering if there will ever be a reply. Used to bother me at first now I'm happy enough to have a virgin inbox yet to get a reply. Tidier is much better.

Yes it's very rude. Rude as hell. I still have messages written in ink. Fab are digitalising them for me so I can add them to my ever lengthening list of messages that do nothing else but use up bandwidth.

Hope that helps. xx

I don't like it. Feels like they want the conversation to end.

They are probably just keeping a tidy inbox but it still makes me feel shit.

Most commonly I do this when I reply

"Thank you", because they sent me a compliment of some description.

Or "I'm not interested, sorry" or a combination of the two.

I don't see any point keeping the messages. Why would it be considered rude to delete?

If someone has the manners to reply to you then they aren’t rude, rude would be ignoring then straight up deleting.

Actually, I got messages from them. I read and replied (it was a no thank) and just deleted the messages but then I got message from them saying how rude I was to delete their message!

That is the whole thing that made me ask your opinions.

Still not rude. Site rules state no reply = not interested.

I read the message go look at profile and if it’s clear they didn’t read profile ie it’s a smoker then yeah I delete. I know my profile is a fecking epic biography but if you can’t spend a minute reading it you won’t gonna spend that time working out what gets us off so fuck it

If I'm still chatting to them I just assume they are good at housekeeping and like to keep things tidy. If they delete and then never reply back then that's that.
