I've met way more people off the red one than the yellow one, but someone reported me for catfishing or being a bot or something on the red one (quite flattering, not gonna lie) and I haven't been able to get back in since

Yeah this. I realise I'm a weirdo, bit I'd prefer an honest, personal approach, something along the lines of "look, This is who I am, I'm mostly here looking to get laid, but I like x y and z etc"

Honestly? It doesn’t matter because I’m gonna be steering the convo, it’s the way this world works

What I look for is engagement. Are you invested in the conversation? Are you having fun? Are you bringing your own fun? Are you actually having a conversation.

Dating apps/messaging has ruined most girls in my opinion because they have so many options, they don’t feel the need to put any effort into any one person.

I’d say 90% of conversation is one sided. It’s lots of “yea” “lol” and “how’s u”. And can you blame them when they have 500 matches and 700 unread messages.

If you want to catch a guys attention, give him your attention. Actually engage with him.

Sounds too much like the generic message I get sent from bots / scammers tbh.

It needs to reference 'something' about my profile or photos (and not just that they like them), otherwise I'd just ignore it.

To be honest, if I were on dating apps and received effectively a FAF message, especially as an initial message, I'd assume the sender was taking the piss.

I'd be happy to engage in a conversation to see if it could lead anywhere, though.

I'm quite chatty on here, too. Probably to my own detriment, as I don't get down to the suggesting bumping uglies part very quickly, if at all

My theory is that most guys on that app and others swipe right on every woman. They do the culling when there's a match. It would have to be THE most frustrating and least successful site I've used. Whatever I've written either men don't answer or they can't converse or they leave the chat when they realise I'm not a blonde gym bunny.

There is one that is Pure as the driven snow which might be more up your street, OP.

I've had a few good messages where they mention something about what I've said about myself or commented on a picture. I tend not to reply to anything that's an emoji or just "hi" or some other mindless drivel. And ask a question, gives them something to work with.

Plus a compliment always goes a long way x
