So, I’m wondering… does anyone treats themselves with luxury skin care products?

Ive heard lots of women swear by La Mer serums and creams, but the prices are very steep.

Has anyone tried them?

And what kind of skin care products do you have? Mid range? Other brands highly appreciated

Usually my skin care routine is on 6-7 steps in the morning and about 3-4 at night (different products that I alternate)

Anyway yeah , let me know!

I've had a tester pot of creme de la mer , it was nice, but I wanted to be wowed by it for the price , and I wasn't.

I'm a medium price range skincare woman. I love Summer Fridays, oskia, Kate Somerville, and Zelens. I also love cerave cleanser (cheap as chips too) for a first cleanse

That’s what I think, I wonder if the packaging and “exclusivity” feels might be a trick when yes it’s good but it isn’t a magical product x

I’m using a lot of Nip+Fab, Aesop, Kielh’s, L’Oreal and some Korean creams. But yeah I was wondering it about La Mer

A friend of mine used it as she was gifted one and said was good, but she swears by Sendai but told me she paid £250 for a cream

Actually I am terrible for skin care - occasionally I go through a "i really ought to" and I buy new products. Then I stick to a routine (ish) for a few days, followed by a period of gradually losing steps in the routine... and it all goes pear-shaped.

Tbh I do believe in moisturisers, at least some of the time at least but drinking lots of water is really important.

There'll be products that are a fraction of the price and do just as good a job.

Love Beauty Pie, buy all my skincare from there. Gorgeous packaging, not tested on animals, luxury but not too ££. Wearing sunscreen 365 days of the year is the best thing I do for my skin though. 75% ageing is down to the sun.

I’m doing my best to add SPF but I mean it’s usually so gloomy I tend not to

But I’m learning to not forget that step

I use Aldi moisturiser with SPF on my face and chest and an ordinary body lotion on the rest of me. I use a hyaluronic acid hot cloth cleanser in the morning. If I could change one thing I would have used SPF on my chest and hands from a teenager.

No 7 protect and perfect is the only product I've heard of that is proven to be effective.

I tend to use The Ordinary skincare products, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, Dove soap and drink a lot of water (sparkling admittedly). I think being fat helps as well, no wrinkles, my skin looks plump, fresh and looked after.

I've said this before but my dad is in his mid nineties, never had anything on his face but soap and water and has always looked about 10 to 15 years younger than he is. It genetic in many cases along with bone structure. Also don't smoke.

Not fussed on creme de la mer, didn't do much for me.

I have a range of things. But most importantly SPF and a wide brim hat.

I like elemis cleansing oil and lots of the pixi cleansing range. My secret I swear by is Neal's yard wild rose beauty balm. But it on before bed for dewy fresh skin the next morning.

The Superdrug Naturally Radiant range - I was super skeptical of drugstore brands but kept reading good reviews of this range. Bought their products on a whim 2 years ago and haven't looked back. Always get loads of compliments on how great my skin looks too

Also have a look at Beauty Pie. They're a new company who aim to replicate recipes used by luxury brands so they can sell them to you a lot cheaper.

Don't love my sister! She's a size 8 of a shallow nightmare wrapped in a pretty package.

I think skincare is very much personal and it depends on your skin type, how you react to certain ingredients - Elemis is meant to be good. Glossier skincare has some very good reviews and that's next on my must try list, it's more midrange rather than luxury though.

I also used to love the Clinique Moisture Surge 24hr but they've recently switched it to a 48hr formula which is just a goopy mess

I have an Elemis cleanser which feels really nice and luxurious as you're using it but it's not worth the price tbh

I like Ronseal one coat, does what it says on the tin... I do find after the initial application I can't blink for a couple of weeks and it does tend to leave a few marks on my shirt collars

I'm in my 40's and have 2 crotch goblins who like to steal my sleep. I have wrinkles which actually don't bother me. I just like looking fresh faced as much as possible. I like to follow Caroline Hirons she has good reviews on beauty products in my opinion.

I have been using Clarins skincare since I can remember. Pricey, but fabulous for my skin. And if you just buy when they have promotions on, you get loads of freebies, too.

Also, of I'm short of money, they're happy to give me samples to see me through to next payday.

You're young Kylie & have lovely skin. I just wish that I'd been told this beauty mantra when I was young "Your face starts at your bra"

I have a reasonable face for my age, but my cleavage is starting to look a tiny bit crêpey

No, she's a doctor as I'm reminded with every call and message.

I'm not sure with the Covid situation if people are giving out samples any more but high end department stores are normally pretty good if you say that you want to try out a new range - especially in Selfridges and John Lewis. Good luck to your new dewy faceness.

How strange i dreamt i bought some last night

in reality i never would, the price is too obscene for me to justify

I use Neal's Yard now that my skin has matured and have to say, i really love it (i buy it on sale and I'm a sales consultant so get discount too! )

PS i think the dream is because I'm looking for a hot stones massage in Peterborough for my forthcoming visit so im currently seeing lots of expensive products being offered !

The Clinique cleansing balm is *chef's kiss*. My skin was as smooth and slippery as a newborn seal when I used to use it

When I've used retinol, that's made the biggest difference to my skin. And I can't remember who said fat helps, but it does! Skinny friends the same age seem to be ageing a lot faster but then they may not have worn spf religiously.

I bought myself a set of La Mer skincare for my birthday back in May.

The cream is waaay too rich. I have combination skin, so I got spots on the oily parts at first. My skin eventually got used to it and welcomes it- but the serum still gets me a rash. £250 for that.

If I were to buy it again, I’d buy the lighter moisturiser or the face lotion rather than the original cream.

I've got a brilliant facewash that I use but got it in a birch box and can't remember the name of it

other than that, the occasional face mask, wash my face twice a day in warm water and drink lots of water. My friend also makes exfoliators and serums that are all natural and amazing. My skin always feels lush after using them.

Tropic stuff is quite good! And cruelty free too. Especially the face mask (Green one) which contains salicylic acid and charcoal etc also another company called Carbon Theory also cruelty free! Do great products the soap with tea tree oil, charcoal, and sheer butter. Also the tonic is amazing! which contains citric acid,tea tree oil, and pink grapefruit. Their moisturiser is fab with contains vitamin E also the body shop Vitamin C toner or the one from Avon is amazing too.

To be fair there’s not much I don’t use really . Glycolic, hyaluronic, retinol , collagen… u name it

I’m obsessed
