Awful news today of the death of American actor Michael K Williams.

He became famous playing Omar Little in The Wire, one of the most iconic roles in TV history, and was also brilliant as Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire.

Sad day. True that.

I just read this, and it has seriously bummed me out.

Such an amazing actor, and I always watched whatever he was in.

Whatever the circumstances are, I hope he's found peace.

Amen. Only 54. You're right, whatever he was in you knew would be worth watching.

Sad to hear, he’s had his struggles so hopefully at peace. He was great in BE, not seen the wire.

BRIDPORT

Not familiar with him so googled.

54, no age to be leaving the planet but sounds like he made his mark during those years, which is more than most achieve. RIP.

Very sad, really good character actor, often pivotal to films & TV shows.

Loved his performance in The Public with Emelio Estevez.

It’s all in the game. RIP Omar.

Sad news. He was a fantastic actor. Best character in The wire.

Obama said Omar was his favourite character. It takes a good actor to be that convincing as a thief with a conscience. You have to live by a code. sad loss RIP

He truly was amazing in The Wire. It’s the only tv series I’ve ever binge watched!
