If you receive a message from the forums....shouldn't the sender not be able to block until recipient has replied or blocked sender? Or some period of time has passed?

Just starting a conversation x

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

No. It makes no difference where the message has come from, the right and ability to block should be the same.

So I message you and be horrible but I cant block until you reply or block? That way people getting horrible messages get at least 1 message to reply back?

Not getting blocked generally seems to have a simple golden rule that works really really well, based around respect and behaviour.

Can't remember the exact wording, but I think it goes something like

'Don't behave like arsehole an and then you won't blocked get.'

If someone sends us a nasty message then instantly blocks us, we just look at it as entertainment. They are obviously childish and not the type of people we would want to communicate with anyway.

Or be a bigger person, block and move on without getting down to their level of being horrible back.

Going off topic but I’m interested what was the stuff you said in the threads ?

Anyway yeah that has happened to me on a good few occasions!!

The sender isn’t looking for a reply and when it happened to me it was probably justified in fairness !

Still funny

If I've deleted a message without replying and the guy kicks off they tend to send their "You're such an entitled fat cunt" message and immediately block before I can respond. If I didn't respond to the original message it's highly unlikely I'll respond to abuse, but I guess the logic of that escapes them.

I view it as the rubbish taking itself out, but I make sure I've also blocked (just in case they change their mind).

I don't need to reply, I'm happy for the block to be immediate!

I've been posting in the forums for over 2 years now and I'm still waiting on my first abusive message.

I've had a few comments aimed directly at me publicly in threads I've started or on others but I've never had anyone disagree with me in direct messages.

Therefore I can't speak from experience but as others have said I would delete those messages and move on.

I've seen too many people obsessing over what others are doing on here and dissecting and analysing every forum comment they believe is about them even when it is obviously not.

Random messages from random people on the internet should not be ruining your experience.

I receive abuse on a daily basis, usually because I won’t meet a blank profile with no pictures at 3am in the morning just so I can “suck him off” at first I will admit I used to get pissed off by it and I would react, then after time It just started going over my head, so if they want to send me abuse then instantly block me, then that’s actually handy, saves me having to click the block button haha x

I actually agree with you on this. I have had nasty messages myself for simply expressing an opinion on the virus forum. I think maybe the reply by PM link should be removed too, to stop this kind of behaviour. It is a way people use to get around forum bans sometimes too, I think...

No I don't really see the point if I get abuse which I rarely do I just block anyhow. Why would I let some random person piss me off so much that I need to reply to their abuse anyhow ? I'm a grown adult not a drama filled teenager . I just block back delete the message and forget about them.
