Winking

Is winking a useless thing on here. Do people actually use it and reply or should it be scrapped and something new replace it

I use winking so see it as a good way of letting someone know I like their profile but I hardly ever see a wink back

Winkings a waste of time.

People have winked us so we have winked back.moat of the time nothing happens. We also tried messaging and more often than not, no response.

So we ignore them now. If someone is really interested they will put the effort in and message just as we out some effort in to message those we would like to meet.

I get more winks, than I give. I prefer to message.

It's a good feature for woman, I feel. Considering the amount of messages they receive, It means they can respond to the messages, but also instigate some messages themselves through winks. Personally for me, I never wink. I prefer to send a nice thorough message to a woman. It shows more respect, and that I've actually read their profile.

I get that but as a, single male I'm often put off of messaging first as it may seem creepy so I wink then if I get a, reply or a wink I'll message back

What could be more innocent than a wink, surely it's a friendly gesture or just letting someone know you are interested.Put it another way you could actually make someones dayXx

Prefer a wink than a ‘fancy a fuk’ message. It gives you time to look at the profile and decide if there’s a possibility of a connection with that person. Easily ignored or reciprocate by sending a message or wink back.

A couple of our best meets began with a wink.

They winked, we winked back, they messaged and before you know it, we were getting along.

Just curious: is that male or female you hardly get a wink back from?

A wink is like a little smile in a pub (remember dating before the internet?) and just a harmless way of saying hello. Maybe from a couples point of view you don’t like them but, as a single male, they most certainly haven’t been a waste of time.

We've had meets from a wink so they can work. A decent message has more chance of a reply though.

Rarely use it & rarely check them because they put the onus on me to send the first message

Tend to only wink if I look at a profile, think I'm not really what they are looking for, but may be ...

Also the approach i take on people who have looked at me.

But generally save for a fab winkathon.

I like to use winking to show I'm interested, if I get a wink back then it's onto messaging.

So many times you spend time writing a message to get no reply I find it an easy way to gauge interest.

We have and do use the wink system. If we wink and get a wink back then we will follow up with a message. Sometimes it gets a response and we have made some great friends through it. Like everything on Fab it is just another tool to be used as part of the whole system.

We’ve used them to send to people to see if there’s interest so we can message. Mainly when we haven’t got time to message. We just wish we could see a list of people we’ve messaged!

We look at winks but unless you’ve got something that interests us then we don’t respond.

I don't mind a cheeky wink, if they've read my profile.

It's much better than a crap message with a cock pic attached.

They're easily ignored if not what you're looking for too.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

To be honest, if they just said they wink if they are interested in their profile then that would be a good guage.

If I liked her I would wink back!

I don't always check instantly so any momentum (if any), has gone.

I would much prefer a direct message instead!

It's served me well as a start of knowing if someone wants to exchange messages without being just one of hundreds sitting in their inbox unread. I would miss it if it were not there as when I joined I wasted hours sending messages to either get no reply or a no thanks.

We welcome winks, and do send winks. To us it's just a simple and polite way of letting someone know that their profile has caught our eye.

We do also send a first message too.

We dont meet single guys so maybe that's why there is a difference?

In our experiance, winks dont accomplish much either way. Not saying they dont work (they have on occasions) but the majority of the time, a message either way shows actual real interest.

I don't make first contact so all communication is initiated by others. I've had a number of winks over the last few weeks.

Some I didn't respond to because we have nothing in common and those I did wink back have not gone any further.

I've also had winks in the past which were a nudge to tell me I'd just been blocked.

They aren't completely useless though as my best experiences on here started with a wink.
