I tend to listen to Metallica more but consider them level in my view.

I can't pick favourite tracks, I really can't, but I'll mention one from each band that immediately popped into my head.

Same here, I could not afford to pay that kind of price, although I would love to see them live, but when you factor in drinks, food and maybe a tee-shirt then you are talking a hell of a lot of money.

Motorhead and Metallica will forever be niche in my memory. Not arguing for their relative merits; it's all about experiences.

I still vividly remember annoying a bus driver with Master of Puppets on the way to GnR at Wembley, then realising they were shit and Skid Row (and the Evil Dead on the monitors) were much better!

Nowadays I really like the fist few Metallica albums, up until the Enter Sandman era, but they sold the fuck out. Motorhead, I'm not at all qualified. It's like asking me what the best Mac Lads song is.

End of the day, like what you like, love what you love, listen to the other shit just in case.

I'd love to chat to other late eighties/early nineties metallers though. Ironically I was never accepted because I didn't dress the way they did; I don't think the non-conformity thing quite hit home...

I'm going to have to go with Metallica though Lemmy was rock n roll personified. Mad as a box of frogs but apparently a real gentleman.

Motorhead - hellraiser (although Ozzy sang it first Lemmy wrote it for him), overkill and shockingly ace of Spades

Metallica - (I'm limiting myself to one song per album) the four horsemen, fade to black, Orion, ...and justice for all and the unforgiven. That's where I kind of checked out a bit with Metallica though I disappear is a great track.

Metallica - unforgiven, but too many others depending on the day or mood jostle for the top spot. Went to see them at the Lyceum Ballrooms in the big smoke. I think it was 1986 and I was 18 and it was Ride the Lightning Tour. Good days.
