Shame they got rid of Matlock. Unfortunately I believe the Grundy incident was not good for them. Got quick publicity but most of their uk tour dates got cancelled. The album is good.

Never forget first time I heard them many moons ago on school bus, flipped cassette out, pen in rewind style, and listened to anarchy in the UK about 10 times back to back, still love punk / Irish / folk punk now

Punk was already well established before they came along. Overly outrageous to make them seem edgy. Some great songs though. Malcolm McLarens puppets.

Nobody had the lip of Lydon. The articulate voice of working class youth. Gave masses the balls to say fuck you to the sexist and corrupt wankers of this country.

They had a few good tunes within them, helped create the punk movement. But there’s better punk bands out there from the Clash to the Str*nglers who in my opinion are much better.

They did and love their bollocks album now... A breath of fresh air but I suspect most of their achievements were down to malcolm mcclaren really.

I think mick Jones and the clash did more.

Huge impact, John Lydon was and still is very underestimated for his intelligence and wisdom.

They did change the late 70'# .But it wasn't just about the Pistols .

The Clash , SLF,UK Subs ,Damned etc too many to list All played a part and were more musically talented by far ,

Remember Sid Mimed his way through it,

Listen and chuckle and watch 'Frigging in the rigging' with its filthy lyrics. 'And frigging in the rigging, frigging in the rigging, frigging in the rigging there was fuck all else to do'. Sounds like a dull Saturday night.

I don't think the sex pistols changed just the future of music in 1977, they changed almost everything, music, fashion, attitude of the common people to say " fuck this, I'm doing for myself "

Without not just the sex pistols but the hole punk rock thing this world we live in now would be a lot different n probably for the worst.
