A) read the whole thread then answer

B) answer the OP immediately, without reading

C) read until you see someone you like and answer them

D) other (and what?)

I read the thread in its entirity and comment on the OP. I might then make reference to other points made previously. If I comment again later, it's in reply to comments since that.

Abercynon-ish

I read the whole thread and answer.

Usually because I'm adding my thoughts to the more silly threads like,

"best song to masturbate to wearing slippers under a full moon"

and I don't want to repeat someone else's comment or suggestion.

I read the Op, then the bottom comment, then add my pearls of wisdom, I only go back to it to see if I got a reply and quote, oh I also check to see if Meli said ‘lexicon’ somewhere.

Moondance Van morrison.

You have the moon reference in the title and the memory of the Jenny Agutter scene in An American werewolf in London for inspiration

Usually look for your comment and comment the most sarcastic response I can think of… not sure why, it’s just become force of habit.

Usually I read it all then reply… but I’m sometimes distracted by a moment of comedy genius and feel the need to show appreciation. Depends on the topic really and whether it’s serious or daft.

Ha. Good one.

OP, it depends. If I start seeing long walls of text after reading the OP, complete with etc I'll either ignore that and post a reply or go and find eye bleach.

I'm more likely to reply to certain posters because I think I kind of know their posting styles and they mine so they are less likely to find offence.

Oh that's a great shout, and better than my go to song of Ozzy's Bark at the Moon.

The Town by The Cross

Interesting thread where the other contributions matter - read the whole thing and do a considered reply

Interesting thread where the other contributions matter but im short of time or tired- read nothing and do a shit short reply

Interesting thread where the other contributions matter but it is so freaking long that I CBA or would lose the will to live....... Read a few posts and make a considered reply.

Stupid thread, fun thread, silly thread, meaningless thread , dickhead thread, trolling thread..... etc....... shoot to the bottom and put equally meaningless comment.

Depends on if the tread is car cash city or not

Normal I read op comment then scroll up and read others as thread movie fast and normal lock at 175 or in less I am tricking the system

If it’s a car crash thread I start from the top and read down then comment

I nearly always comment then read the rest of the thread. Sometimes I don't bother to read the rest of the comments.

I read all the thread and get halfway through the comments, then see someone has already said what I intended to but better, so I just read the rest

(She/ her) in Sensualityland

It really depends; sometimes I go straight to the comment other times I read through (on the more serious topics, usually)

It also depends a little bit on who has posted what - after a while you get to know other people's styles a bit and you know who is on your own wavelength and has a similar sense of humour.

I read the posts that are shortish and aren't quoting-marathons. Sorry, attention span is rubbish.

Michael Jackson Thriller was made for this, but not the extended version obviously.

I read the first few but when the scrolling is too much I get bored. Sometimes then I will skip to the bottom to see if it has become a fight then I will scroll backwards to see who started it. If its massive even that can be an effort so I click off and find a shorter one.

It's a compulsion I seem to produce in folk. Don't worry, there's a support group.

I ignore the title, don't read the OP, jump past the responses, and write something completely irrelevant.

Tomato ketchup with bacon sandwiches, but hot dogs are better with fried mushrooms, onions and cherry tomatoes, with a dollop of mustard.
