No she was 23. Very gullible though. And I have a childish sense of humour at times.

Never seen a boar but struggling to think of anything else I haven't? Seen otters, osprey, golden Eagle, badgers, adders, grass snakes, red squirrel, stoat, weasels etc etc. Nearly all spotted whilst fishing

Seen pretty much everything being a country boy apart from a red squirrel or an adder. Reds are up north and adders are generally down south west so dont expect to any time soon! Seen Fox/badger/mink (bloody things!)/stoat/weasel/lots of deer/grass snake/otter (bloody things!)

"I’ve never seen a badger"

I've seen several badgers, but sadly never alive. They often seem to wander onto several of the local rural roads.

Isn't a black squirrel just a melanistic squirrel? In the same way many animals can be? Or are they their own type as it were that are found in Scotland?

I had a mole pop up out of the ground next to me while I was sat on the grass once. I don't know who was more surprised. He stayed for a while, it was lovely

Anyone ever seen a real live haggis before? It's that rare animal native to the highlands of Scotland that has three legs, two long ones, and a short one, but stays upright by running around hillsides. The female haggis has two long right legs, and one short left leg, and runs round the hillsides anticlockwise, whilst the male of the species has two long left legs, and one long right leg, and runs round the hillsides in a clockwise direction. As the two creatures run around, and meet in the middle they leap in the air, and so they mate in order to procreate the species. It is from the mating ritual of the haggis comes the expression, "To take a run and jump."

I've only ever seen a dead one on a plate. Next to some tatties and nips.

Cal"

Many of the dead badgers at the side of the road are thrown out of cars by scumbags that enjoy hunting them for fun, as nobody will really question it.

I've driven late at night for years, often through rural areas and i've never come close to seeing one, never mind hitting one- but i know several places where dead ones appear at a regular frequency- all places where you can be sure you don't have anyone in front or behind you...but a clear view of any wildlife
