I know there is one in London, not sure if it's other places too.

Have you been and should I expect if I go?

No, I've not been yet, I'm planning on going in October to look for a couple of bits. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread for those who've actually been (unlike myself who is no use, sorry OP!).

LAM, I've been. It's pretty good. Lots of stalls. Haven't been to the evening events that come with it yet.

I'm jumping on this bandwagon as well.

Except the going in October part sadly.

Am now thinking about the Floating Market from Neverwhere. Or the Trollmarket in the Trollhunters series.

"What is it or should I ask Google ?"

This is what it says on there Website

London Alternative Market (LAM) is London's first community-supporting market project, held in the heart of the city on the first Sunday of every month. LAM is a great place to come and find out about alternative lifestyles, and to meet and socialise with those with similar interests. All our events are “Kink+”, meaning that we are open to all. Looks interesting.

yeah there

Been to a few and it's a good mix of kink and info. Worth going on the website and booking onto any of the talks that interest you and also if you can, staying on for the evening. If anyone ever wants company going we often go up as a small group or can be chaperone/introducer.

From what I understand is a mixture of socialisation, Information and stalls selling products.

Yeah I've been to a few. They are great for doing your research into what you want to explore with, they have some great latex on sale, there's usually a bit of a kinky do in the evening at some with a dungeon so you can practice your newly bought toys. Plus some have tea and cake during the day.

I'd recommend going, personally I love them.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I went a few years ago, when I was much more innocent and ignorant.

If you're looking for a ponytail, they will have it.

I didn't use any of the condoms in the goody bag and my Fab friend and I were going on to a social so didn't do any of the LAM social stuff.

I've been a fair few times. Bring lots of cash as you will spend there. Lots of standard bdsm bits of Bob's (candles, cuffs, rooe) plus some unusual and specialist kit like hard to find violet wand attachments. It's held in a great location and there are lots of stalls. Food and drink can be pricey as its a city venue. Lots of cocktails. They have talks and workshops whilst the market is on and after there is a ticketed play event. I've never stayed for that though. They run one in Manchester too.

Gapping Fanny

The LAM is good if you are interested in kink or sex toys, otherwise it may not be that much fun for you. Its more kink positive than swing, the same as the BBB.

The after parties are okay, but limit nudity due to it being a licensed premises.

They often run workshops/talks about a number of topics.

There are a number of traders who frequent both the BBB and LAM, with some who only do one or the other.

Its really down to what you are after as to if you will enjoy it. We only tend to go when stocking up or looking for something new.

Its more market socialisation (if you go or meet people you know as its not great for meeting other shoppers) information

LAM is great fun and a good place to spend way more money than you planned.

We’ve been many times and have bought some lovely kit, suppliers there tend to be the manufacturers and sell artisan kit rather than mainstream.

The evening event is more for testing out your new toys rather than playing. There’s actually a zero nudity policy and the organisers state it’s not a ‘play’ event.

There’s Q&A on their site.

Always worth a visit.

I have been to BBB on many occasion its just a walk round market, with a difference, lots of lovely people. You will see lots of people expressing themselfs in what they wear, dog collars worn, with leads attached, lots of pvc and leather worn. Fabulous experience if you have never been, get yourselfs too one....

I would add the following.

There is no guarantee how busy it will be with people and traders. At some points in the year traders save themselves for the BBB.

Second, the same applies to the after party. There has been times when it has been heaving, and there are times when it has been near empty.

As mentioned previously nudity is not allowed at the after-party although pretty damn skimpy is allowed.

The usual rules of being in a dungeon where play occurs apply.

Despite FL stuff, I am a fan, at my first visit some years ago I saw my first Japanese style rope display, and have been hooked on Japanese style rope ever since.

I had friends that went yesterday and had a lovely time. I know a couple of the stall holders that do LAM, BBB Swamp etc etc

It's a great way to catch up with friends and see things in the flesh before buying
