Morning everyone, so Confucius apparently said "If it wasn't for Venetian blinds it would be curtains for all of us"

Well maybe he didn't but as a single guy yesterday I had the dubious pleasure of buying some curtains for my spare bedroom; The lady who showed me the size told me not to forget to gather them before hanging and something told me she wasn't referring to picking them up before I left the shop.

This morning I looked on You Tube and found out what she was talking about and how to do it and now have a pair of hung curtains and it got me thinking - What did we do without You Tube, what's the best way it's helped you in the past?

I've used you tube for shibari tutorials. I'm such a slow learner and would be likely to lag behind at workshops. With YT I can pause and rewatch until I get it.

I've got several recipe ideas off YouTube

Combined a few ideas to build a friend's fire pit

Found a way to open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew.

Before you tube, and the Internet for that matter we just just got on with it and did stuff. If you got stuck there was always a friend or neighbour who could help out.

YouTube has helped me help other people fix stuff.

Bike pedals being the latest.

I've watched cake making tutorials and loads of PC problems.

Very true F&P - but YT maybe does make it easier and quicker to sort something

Definitely though I admit to using it for watching daft stuff too.

There is a channel on there called KittenAcademy. It's just a live feed of adorable kittens playing.

I use YouTube for literally EVERYTHING, but it's taught me so much.

I now can make amazing cakes, crochet blankets and baby clothes, know how to clean an oven properly, know how to (passably) cut hair... The list goes on. I think without YouTube I'd just be a gelatinous blob.
