In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

You know once you've spread it on the bread there's no removing it, right?

I'll kick off..

Bacon Roll...absolutely no butter. Just brown sauce.

Toast.

a) if being spread with something else, eg Nutella, Jam, whatever...no butter

b) if plain toast...yes butter.

Crackers (eg Jacobs)

Same as Toast. Butter if no other topping, otherwise no butter if there is another topping.

Hot Crumpets..always with butter, and it must be melted and oozing.

Sandwiches..always with butter to accompany filling.

Soup roll...buttered, but must tear a piece off and then butter, and no dunking.

How do you like yours ?

On a mooch

Only use butter on bread if that is the only thing going on it, if another topping or filling to be added then no butter.

Exception to this, toast is always buttered straight out of the toaster.
