In a couple weeks I'm going to be starting a little rope class amongst some friends, and I need inspiration on what I'm gonna teach these people, so I've come to the forums here to ask you all.

I need ideas for men and women simple and complex

How did you start out?

I would have thought the basics like safety first and then things like single and double column ties, how to join rope, some of the more common knots etc.

You can try and teach them specific ties like a futo or TK so they can do a thing. Futos can be good for self tying.

As usual I echo _etcpl, but would add under safety, negotiation and consent in case they branch out of the group. Also the right kind of shears for play, because cheap shears are not good.

Laddering is good for learning rope flow, rope tension and frictions. There are a number of rope games that help with these as well that can be Googled and make the lessons fun.
