Do people really take their campers abroad as in Asia and America.

I was thinking UK and Europe.

My friends did Europe. They ended up in Greece. We got as far as south east France in ours.

I did some parts of France, Belgium and went as far as Amsterdam then turned around and came back to Calais. I didn't feel safe driving on the right side of the road.

Cheshire

Ireland, start at the top around Derry then eventually go to the South, that I haven’t explored enough.

I lived in Belfast and Cookstown a few years ago, so it would be great to return.

Plus plenty of sexy people across the water

On my retirement bucket list to do the British tour, especially the south coasts with not having spent much time that way, taking our time stopping off at beautiful locations watching sunrises and sunsets sounds like bliss

We parked up by a river in the Charente area of France once years ago. An older couple were parked there in their camper having a cup of tea. They were just driving around the area stopping where they wanted to. It looked idyllic. I'd do that.

Did that in 1998....from New England up through Niagara, across to Vancouver down to Washington State then south to California but as a 2 month road trip, not in a van. Just nightly stops along the way. Good times.

Yes, they do. My parents are doing that now. They bought one from Germany for export to Australia, had it kitted out in Australia and had spent about 4 months a year travelling in it from about April to August for 3 years. Last year was their 4th year when Covid hit. They were in NZ and got locked down there.

I can think of worse places to have been caught out. I wasn't at all worried for their safety at that time.

You know, I think there might have been one or two like that. We were hit with a couple of severe ice storms along the way and were lucky to get rooms at these impromptu stops.

They had coin slots on the bed and we were killing ourselves laughing trying them out. Great fun!!

the Goldilocks Zone

I'd start with the West coast of Scotland, then on up to the western isles via Skye - target camp site in Horgabost, Harris...

Couple of weeks there to figure out the next leg would do me just fine

I’ve only driven in Spain but it was in a left hand drive so seemed fairly easy. Couldn’t do it in a RHD though
